Is that a 'black bomber'?
No, it's a CB500 Four, which rolled off the production line on 6th August 1974. The 500 Four was the first Japanese middleweight 4-cylinder bike - the little brother to the CB750. After a few years, it was developed into the CB550. The sales success of the CB500/550 was such that the other manufacturers were forced to respond. First came the Suzuki GS550 in 1977, then the Kawasaki Z500 in 1979 and finally the Yamaha XJ550 in 1981. All the current Japanese in-line 4-cylinder middleweight bikes can trace their ancestry back to these machines.

I think that's the first cbr600 underseat exhaust I've ever seen that isn't pissed!
I bought a Micron one that lasted 2 weeks before having to come off to be sold as it would be pissed after each ride no matter how anal I was with the adjustment (and believe me, I am anal). The general fit of the Akrapovic is so much better anyway.
I'm having a similar battle with the Ducati 50mm Termignonis, but that will be won.
