My Nearly New Honda Africa Twin

FWIW mine is an ‘18 manual, bought similar to yours at under 500 miles old. Now over 12K and I love it to bits! Best mod for me was the rugged roads air dam, cheap and effective against wind buffeting which seems to come up past the forks. Heed crash bars are a good upgrade over the standard ones for off road. The little SW motech tank bag is ace. Cool Covers seat cover I really like for longer distance summer rides. Been to Alps, Mallorca, Pyrenees, Wales etc on it, plenty off off road too and the bike has been spot on for all. The original Dunlop tyres were horrible! Ditch asap IMHO. Currently have Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR fitted, and have had Metzeller Karoo Street, both very good.
Like many of us I had the old 750 Africa Twin back in the day, lovely bikes and beautifully built. Saw the ‘new’ ATAS in the dealers, got all nostalgic, and had to have one in those colours! Yours is a beauty... Enjoy!

And yes those tyres will be changed soon, Pirelli rally str sounds like a good choice!

Uh oh. Hope it didn't hurt, and is easily fixable.
Yep no damage to me or the bike thankfully.I thought it was time to get some video of me on a ride out.
I know I thought, I will use my Garmin Virb action cam.
Then I had another bright idea, which as it turns out was to be my downfall.
So I have had my Garmin action cam for probably 5 years now, it been on an off three of my different Caterham models, mounted to the roll bar, mounted in the cabin, mounted on my helmet.
Track days, sprints, hill climbs , tours all around wales etc, trips to France and back, never once an issue.
But mounted on the back of my bike yesterday, one quick test ride, mounted on the rack on the back, came home after about 25 miles, and it’s no longer there, gone.
Went out to retrace the route with my daughter, and then it was 1/2 a mile up the road from home.
Clearly after failing off my bike it had been run over several times!
RIP Garmin Virb.
