Hmmmm should I get a 1200GS instead of a similar era? It won't have any complex electronics to worry about etc?

The Next2 are the latest tyres just released 2mos ago from Metzeler. I heard from a tyre tester who went to their launch in Portugal that they are the best tarmac-focused tyres for an Adv bike, taking over from the Conti TA3s... should be better than 'not bad'!?
Ah it might not have been the Next2 that I had on originally then. Definitely Next. I’ll see how I get on with them. I didn’t have any issues with them. But I don’t really ride in a manner that makes me need all the grip in the world etc.

Just filled up with £62 worth of petrol…that’s depressing! I certainly picked the wrong time to increase my commute!

I have had a 2008 and still own a 2016 version, both used in all weathers and not pampered and they have been bullet proof

On a bike?

That's like a 9 gallon tank. I've not been keeping up with bike design.

I was shocked the other day to see a new FireBlade in the flesh at a dealers.

From £19,999 yikes and it had 200bhp!!

I'm well behind the times.

Yep! GSA has a 33 litre tank. Not helped that Tesco was closed on my way home and had to go to the 24/7 Shell at 2am where it was almost £2 a litre.

Blimey! What range do you tend to get with that?

My last motorbike was a Street Triple, it averaged 30mpg unless I went on a long run.

With current petrol prices even biking is getting (more) expensive.

My Vespa 300 does about 80mpg but it still shocks me when I fill the 1.5 gallon tank with E5 due to the crazy prices.

Apparently you can't stick E10 into old Vespas.

I get around 300 miles out of a tank. Averages around 45MPG. I have managed 55MPG.

MOT is due next month. Hate this time of year.

I need to at some point get the extra lights fixed for when it comes round to winter.

41,000 miles now. No issues with it so far.

That's pretty decent for the size. My Tiger 800 states 55.8.

We need more pics and write ups! There's a 2013 at my work that I keep eyeing up now. It's only a matter of time.

I meticulously track my mpg, and only got 49mpg on my tiger 800, however I'm currently getting 53mpg from my KTM 1290 Super Adventure, not bad for an extra 65bhp. Unfortunately only a 23l tank so 250 mile range. Tempted by a 30l tanked bike one day, as getting fuel always seems a big waste of time.

On board computer says I'm getting 54MPG at the moment. Trying to be sensible on my way to and from work.

MOT is booked in for Wednesday morning...sods law that yesterday when I was doing a few checks the bloody horn doesn't work. Worked the day before with no issues.

Will properly just let it fail and then get them to fix it as don't think I'll have time between now and Wednesday to get the part and fit it.

I think it's a 16 litre tank, but the low fuel warning is more than a little prudent (and shouty).

Sold my 2003 GS last year, 117,000 miles on it, I was the only owner. Seemed to work just fine.
Never washed it, not even once.
Wish I had kept it.
I've always been tempted by a older GS. That's good to hear on the mileage!
Sorry, typo there it was a 2013, first of the liquid cooled ones.

As I knew it failed on the horn. Just waiting for the replacement to turn up. Going to let them fix it as I looked before and it looked a bh to get off.

Advisories on rear brake pads and an issue with the exhaust leaking.

I’ll sort the rear brakes out myself and asked them to quote for the exhaust leak.

Hopefully I’ll get it back today as if not it won’t be until next Friday due to work.

Called today to say the MOT is done and horn is fixed. Annoyingly I don't finish work until 5pm and they close at 5:30pm. Can't get there in time sadly, so other half is going up tomorrow or Wednesday to pay and get the key, she'll then drop me off once I've got home to collect it.

Best place to get rear brake pads from?

Usually use https://ebcbrakesdirect.com/ to get the ebc number and then buy from the cheapest place (typically ebay)
