I've got the biggest one I could get my hands on smile
I got a pet hate with overly loud bikes anyway, so having a big one that makes 95db with the baffle in means I can ride pretty much anywhere and not have the hassle of going home in a sulk when I fail morning testing.
Lost count of the amount of people that have had to put their bikes back in the van before they've even got out on track because their crappy little stubby pipe has failed, and they've wasted a day and £150

Nothing wrong with having an exhaust that guarantees that you get through noise testing. I've got a big one too (fnarrr), but the bd at Snetterton still tried to say that I was close to failing at 101dB for the evening sessions. Strange that he passed it at 97 in the morning.
No logic at that place sometimes. Ive only been once this year due to mine only passing drive by with the baffle

Exactly why I did it. I know they mention about noise and baffles on track day briefings. Last year I would run it with little affect on my old bikes power but it spoilt it for me this year on the newer bike hence getting the huuuge 450mm MHP exhaust

Cost me £186 delivered & sold the other one thats been used 3 times for £70 so I can live with that

Like a kid on their birthday! Bank holiday and I'm not working so thought I'd get it running. Put it all back together and forgot the bloody rubber duct!

Went up and down my road a few times and all felt good with no leaks and the fans now work (I ran a 10a by accident not 15a)

https://youtu.be/ofI7aAe0Z6o

So that begs the question... Who's doing a mid week track day in September as I want to make sure all is OK

Good luck & have fun!

I've just moved to the South West so it's now officially my local track but the dates don't work for me so next year it is.

Watched a mate do a track day there last year and the organisation was fairly laid back which combined with 10 min sessions made it look a bit hard work. I've been told they've lengthened the sessions this year.
Was laid back but well-organised... they have a system and they stick to it.
Deffo still 10 minute sessions though.

A few from last week at the Michelin day at Knockhill.

It was raining....I had to hide the fact I was using metzler wets all day under my warmers....

It was really good though, Terry Rymer took me out for a session, I took lots from just a 20 minute session with him. Most instructors I've had in the past are just like "yeah good, work on lines, going good". He was great, told me my entry speed was too quick, too long on the side of the tyre, too much time spent leant over, loads that makes me consider actually having a 1-2-1 day with tuition.

I did actually get out with the drys on, it was dry for one lap before it pissed it down and had to come in again.

I also raised the forks up 2 mm on the daytona after never quite getting the suspension feel I was promised with the upgrade.

fk me, I went out on the sighting laps and shat it when my knee kissed the ground in the wet without any effort. It just falls in, big problem I now have is before I was riding to compensate from this "understeer" handling, Id struggle to hit many apexs physically had to fight it before. Now I'm riding over the buggers with the front wheel which caused this wee moment.

So, who was at Snet today? Morning sessions were plagued by red flags. I was #13 in the recovery truck. Alongside #14. We crashed together(separate incidents, just at the same place/time) at the end of the start/finish straight.

Actually, quite a few people had quite big offs there. A few less lucky than I. Managed to not drop it on the tarmac with a quick supporting foot to keep me upright, but that meant I went off onto the grass. Thankfully, only a tiny crack in the fairing, lots of mud, and oddly a bent rear brake lever, which must have been my leg because I dropped it on the left side...

Ah well. Fantastic afternoon sessions.

Nope, three days Fri / Sat / Sun were enough for me. I grew to love that first corner, braking late to the first apex, down two to 4th and then nailing it on the exit, the grip there is epic. I made up loads of time in races on the brakes there and through the corner.

Got my first full wet day tomorrow. I have a question about tyre warmers... Use them or not with wets? I've read that unless you are pretty quick in the wet (clearly I won't be as I've not done a wet day before) it's best not to use them. Reason being, you go out with them nice and hot but unless you can maintain the heat with good pace, they will drop off and become progressively less grippy. Better to go out cold and gradually work the heat into them? Any advice welcome!

No warmers.

You'll bugger them up anyway when you come in with soaking wet tyres and then steam them dry!

Personally I say yes. But only for 10 minutes to get them up to 40 degrees as opposed to 80

I was there, had a great day, was a bit concerned about the weather at one point but turned into a lovely day.

Brands GP circuit has to be the best circuit in my opinion, love it!!

Well that went to plan. Big high side. Frame is ruined (big hole punched in the side). All fairings destroyed. And various other damage (clip ons, footpeg, engine casing etc). I think I got a bit wide exiting a corner and touched the white line. Actually had time to think "fk this is a crash and it's going to hurt" before I hit the deck. That's 2 crashes in 2 trackdays, both in the first session. Feel like a complete bellend
