As I’ve said before, my dream bike in my favourite colours!Absolutely beautiful.
Those who have them love 'em, those who sell 'em regret.
This is mine, which started out much like your's when I bought it in 2004. They're possible to modify considerably, even today.

I also hope you have fun on it. It is a personal thing, but the looks do nothing for me, and I'm a big KTM fan. Something about the upper fairing/headlight cowl/windshield just looks weird to me.
Yeah it's growing on me but it's no looker for sure.I had a quick test ride on one, the only thing I didn't like was the gearbox - pretty much 0 feel through the lever which felt odd to me, and the spikes dug into my foot of course, but that's a boot issue more than anything.

Sweet. RC51's (As they're known in N America), or SC45's (As they're known elsewhere) are bikes that seem to enchant every owner.

I think my RC51 must be the opposite of the one in that link....Those who have them love 'em, those who sell 'em regret.

30k miles, ragged to death everywhere... not even washed..I don’t treat it as anything special.... although it does have Harris bits on it...
Ying and yang I guess. Lol
Bought this 2 months ago from a chap in Germany but was only able to travel to collect it this week.
After bus, plane and train I arrived on Tuesday evening in Burgkunstadt to be met by the vendor. Order of business yesterday was to get the bike registered in my name with my Andorran address so I can register it in Andorra in due course and then get it cleared for official export by German customs. Without the help go Herr Klein, the seller. who had researched it all, I would not have completed the process inside a day, but as it panned out we were done and dusted by mid afternoon.
Here is the bike prepped for departure back to Andorra in a few hours - a 2 day trip.
It's a 1992 BMW K1 with a fraction over 30k on the clock. Herr Klein had owned the bike for the last 22 years. it's not mint but it's in very very good original condition. It's a nice contrast to my 2016 K13S.

Never really bother to stop for photos. But out on an early morning ride before the great unwashed wake up, took this of my Brutale, and my mates Superduke.
I love the Brutale, had I been more brave that would have been a very serious proposition over the Street.
No need for bravery imho. The new Russian owner has put money into the supply chain and parts, and mine has been faultless, very reliable. Any parts I’ve needed have come quickly.
New dealers are on the way apparently, as admittedly that’s a current downside. I’m lucky as there’s a good one 25 miles away, but there’s only a dozen or so at the moment.
Slightly different beast from the street. Less polished, definitely more ‘raw’. A noticeable step up in power (RR is 140bhp) and more ‘flighty’ - the standard steering damper doesn’t do much. It feels less grown up as a result.
I’ve had a Daytona 675R for three years, and ridden the Street 765RS, so plenty to compare.
As I said, both are great. In the end I preferred the exclusivity and perceived ‘exotica’ feel of the MV, and to me it feels like it straddles the class above.
But let’s be honest, the exclusivity is because people don’t buy them, as it’s not as measurably a ‘good’ a bike as the trumpet.
But I absolutely love it, no regrets. I know people always say this, but it’s a keeper.
Horses for courses...
Edited as it was a 765RS not R that I rode...

So far so good. About 700 miles today has got me to Orange in Southern France leaving me only about 275 to do tomorrow. Bike has - touch wood - been faultless.Sounds like a great seller doing some research etc ready for you.
The saleler - Herr Klein - was indeed excellent. He'd arranged to have the bike fully serviced and got the German equivalent of the MOT, the met me at the station, took me to my hotel, picked me up the following morning, took me to the registration office, organised the 9 day insurance to get me back to Andorra, organised the new plate, took me to the transport company to get the bit of paper you need to export the bike legally, and then took me to the local Customs & Excise equivalent to get it stamped so he was on the go from 8.00am till 3.00pm. I doubt if I'll ever find a seller like him again.

Good to hear the K1 is performing as it was designed to do. I have a K100 and it’s been a fickle bugger.

I felt the same when this went, I don't mis it to be honest, I felt more of a custodian than long time owner, were not talking about large amounts of money hear but if I had a big house in the country with a few quid in the bank and enough money not to worry about money I would of stuck this in the hall way of my mansion. On a positive note my mates rs250 that he purchased for an investment has just shat its load and seized up, he is a prick so I'm entitled to a laugh
I met someone (miraculously) so I doubt it'll happen now - but my post divorce settlement plan was a white SP-2 in the living or dining room.
I actually offered 10k to a guy asking £12k for a sub 8000 mile immaculate example but he didn't take me up on it.
Fast forward a year or so and I had to put everything in to the house deposit

I have a thing for gear-driven Cam Hondas (Currently keep 4 of them) and the RVF400 is the pinnacle of the Japanese market 400's, so I bought myself one for Xmas 2018. Drove 500km overnight, to collect it, then 500km back to Tokyo the next day. It had a few good bits on it already, including an HRC ECU, but I added a few more. I had a set of Carbon wheels from an NSR250 (MC28) project onto which I wanted bright orange wheels, so I swapped the originals for the Dymags shown and added Brembo callipers and a front RCS19 master cylinder, as well as Stoptech discs. Stops well now.
It's a fun little thing to rev to 13,500 and ride like its stolen. Sounds great and handles pretty well.
Must get it out soon; it's been sitting in the garage for almost a year. Petrol's getting old...

I remember test-riding a brand new one of those for a day round Sussex roads, for a road test feature once, back around 1996. On a positive note my mates rs250 that he purchased for an investment has just shat its load and seized up, he is a prick so I'm entitled to a laugh
Didn't want to give it back at the end of the day. Such a fun little thing. Must finish my Doohan replica NSR, soon... soon...

Five years ago I went through a divorce, had to move to a small house, start paying child support, buy all new furniture etc., it was crippling for a year or two. Now I'm remarried, nicer place, and have four bikes. It does get better.I actually offered 10k to a guy asking £12k for a sub 8000 mile immaculate example but he didn't take me up on it.
