Well I have got the K1 back to Andorra. Left Thursday morning very early, and got to Orange in Southern France about 1,100 KM later - approx 700 miles. Bike ran faultlessly. Only had 430 Km to ride yesterday and again no issues. So washed the bike today alongside my K1300S.

I have a thing for gear-driven Cam Hondas (Currently keep 4 of them) and the RVF400 is the pinnacle of the Japanese market 400's, so I bought myself one for Xmas 2018. Drove 500km overnight, to collect it, then 500km back to Tokyo the next day. It had a few good bits on it already, including an HRC ECU, but I added a few more. I had a set of Carbon wheels from an NSR250 (MC28) project onto which I wanted bright orange wheels, so I swapped the originals for the Dymags shown and added Brembo callipers and a front RCS19 master cylinder, as well as Stoptech discs. Stops well now.

It's a fun little thing to rev to 13,500 and ride like its stolen. Sounds great and handles pretty well.
Must get it out soon; it's been sitting in the garage for almost a year. Petrol's getting old...
Love this! I really need to try an RVF400 at some point

Five years ago I went through a divorce, had to move to a small house, start paying child support, buy all new furniture etc., it was crippling for a year or two. Now I'm remarried, nicer place, and have four bikes. It does get better.

I'm hardly doing terribly, but I'm not exactly well off either. I'd have just got a cheaper house and spent some on white SP-2.
If someone ever gives me £20k for any reason, I'm going straight to Hunts in Manchester and buying that black unused one.
He has a red and a black one; started off at £25k each but they're slowly coming down.

But anyway, bought the NC29 at the beginning of Al Johnson implementing mass house arrest. Bought it a battery, horn (and sorted the wiring to it) and sorted the side light. Mirrors on their way for it and then it'll be up to the MOT station.
Still undecided what i'm going to do with it but we'll see.

Washed the '18 'blade, too.

I also hope you have fun on it. It is a personal thing, but the looks do nothing for me, and I'm a big KTM fan. Something about the upper fairing/headlight cowl/windshield just looks weird to me.
Yeah it's growing on me but it's no looker for sure.
I don't think it pictures very well, looks good in person though.

1st service on the 20 plate GS done so I'm ready to get cracking.

It's a loan bike, that needs 12,000 miles put on it as part of a R&D project (four of us got one each). It's a really good bike, does everything well and can see why people like them but, not enough character for me to get my wallet out.

There were lots of plans to get miles on, like meeting an old Army mate in Holland, another in Germany, leading a tour to Norway and the NC500 on top of daily use and coaching.

The trips abroad have all been cancelled, Germany may happen later in the year but the NC500 is still on, I'm going to do it in a day and then do breakfast, lunch and dinner in the highest pubs in Scotland. England and Wales, respectively. So around 1,800 miles in three days door to door.

Had this in for a few days, shiny bodywork but needed some properTLC underneath, took away years of grime and stubborn marks the owner hadnt managed to shift.

Love the way its bolted together, the tank is the roof of the airbox and runs without no filter, well, this one does anyway..

Some before and afters....Im going to be offering this indepth cleaning as a service for people now, its not something I can do on peoples drives really, takes to much time to be able to do this in a day . If your interested, drop me a PM.

Have this next, very low mileage bike but a dealers valeter has, I think, diluted the detergent (poss traffic film remover) incorrectly and its marked it in places, along some light surface rust around the discs .

Yeah, I've had worse jobs. We have a year to get the miles in, but I'm a 20-25k a year rider so should be done before Christmas, or there abouts. Which gives my 60,000 miles K1300R some time off and all being well, some TLC. Also eyeing up the new Super Duke R as a Sunday and track day toy for next year. The GS is insured for the few days coaching I have at Blyton this year so It'll get a good run out.

The bikes were prepped by and collected from Motrac Race Engineering up in Ellesmere Port, Chester (where the picture was taken) and have to be serviced at Allan Jefferies Motorrad dealer in Shipley. Which isn't ideal when you live in Berkshire, but....free bike!!

The mighty Lego Technics Ducati Panigale V4R. Great fun to build, complex, lots of moving parts, rotating crank and pistons, suspension etc.

If the 996 is anything like my 748, the air filters are in the air tubes that run to the front of the bike thumbup
