Tom Luthi has signed for Marc VDS alongside Morbidelli on the MotoGP bikes.
That's the current top 2 in Moto2 signed up.
A whole lot better than GP2 manages as a feeder series into F1 then. That's the current top 2 in Moto2 signed up.
As someone who knows quite a lot about how car motorsport deals work, I feel a bit clueless when it comes to Moto GP. Are these riders signed up on pute talent or do they have to bring a commercial package too? From reading Tom Lüthi's Facebook post it reads like he's splitting from his current Swiss backers as part of the move so I guess he doesn't have to bring budget to the team?
Marc VDS have 2 teams one in MotoGP and one in Moto2 they are sponsored/partnered by Spanish beer company Estrella Galicia, Estrella Galicia also have a Moto3 sponsored team. So they are a kind of Red Bull academy, bringing riders through. I think their backing all over the bikes means no space for Interwetten and no desperate need for their money, or perhaps someone thinks alcohol and betting are not a good combination

I like Tom, but I do wonder if its a bit late in his career to go the top class.
Hes not mamaged to clinch the M2 title after a few years in the class.
I reckon it's a great signing. He could surprise everyone and the non factory level teams are looking for a Zarco / Folger impact now which is great for the sport. Hes not mamaged to clinch the M2 title after a few years in the class.

I reckon they could both be more consistent than " wonderkid" Aussie Jack.
I think there's more to it and Bird has a real problem when Shakey retires, as he's had a load of teammates, but none have managed to perform. Irwin was quite brutal in some of his comments when interviewed at Thruxton about "some people" expecting too much of him and not understanding the severity of his injury.

Wouldnt be surprised if PBM pack up when Shakeys done tbh....Such a shame to have lost Mark H-S from the paddock....
