I’ve just put a deposit on a rally pro - how are you finding it?
It's amazing, and I'm still running it in so haven't even used all the revs yet. It's comfy, fast enough, the quickshifter is just sublime in both directions, and the electronics make for a lot of fun off-road too. I'll be keeping it for a long time. The only negatives are the dash is a bit busy, not the best UI, but it doesn't really matter that much, and it's heavier than other bikes I've had so is a PITA to move around, but fine when riding.
I'm getting the upper engine bars added too, for when I drop it again.
Can't wait to do some proper touring/camping on it next year, hopefully post-covid.
This 78 RD400 had been just dropped off by its owner at my mates home workshop, for some TLC. Behind is a GPz900R, and behind that a six cylinder Z1300, all there for servicing or repair. Nearby, out of shot was a mint Z900A4, which was also in for a service. Normally he works at the owners place, but with the lockdown, he's been working from home, hence all the bikes awaiting work.

Good to see you getting out finally! As already said on that tyre I think its you giving it a load of beans and the rebound being slow maybe?I ended up going out later in the afternoon. I was aching bad from MX so in the morning chilled
Just fitted an old SC a mate gave me on the back - been in the attic couple years but looked fine. Left finch with a great bunch and wasn't really pushing but back felt crap. Ended up sliding out twice. Think its gone past its best! It lacked feel lost that squidgy feeling you get when nice and warm. I thought I had a puncture but got home and it looked fine just not soft. Lesson learnt there

Nom nom nom...In my old age I find stuff like this so much more appealing than modern bikes.
Buy new (to me) bike at the start of week off, lovely sunny day, go to head out for a ride and discover that:
1. The heated grips switch is 3 position, not 2, and off is in the middle, not the bottom
2. The previous owner didn't wire them through the ignition
Now I'm enjoying the sunshine in the backyard waiting for the roadside assistance to come give me a jump.

Worse ways to start your working day by looking at that lot...I'm sure it gets a bit dull after the first 30 years working on bikes... Here is another Kawasaki waiting to be worked on in the same workshop..
While I was there to go through progress on my own Zed engine, and see how the one off billet cover looks on the cases.. the head has just gone off for work, and its now getting another rebore to take it out to 1170cc with hi comp forged pistons.
