CBTand buying a Desmo
Discussion
So I found this thread because someone said I was mentioned but I can't see where. No matter.
What a fantastic story and great to see it's still going on. A fabulous journey.
All I have to add is brother (Jim) get yourself one for the track.
And for the rest? Buy what you like, love what you ride and do not give a monkey's what another human being thinks.

Has been a while, but thought I’d update my biking adventure.
Out on the 1299R FE this morning and it is quite possibly the most crazy bike Ducati will ever make! Have fully run it in now and could open it up a little and for me it’s just the way it picks up in any gear (5th gear wheelie for example) - will be sad to see the V/L twin go, just given the character it has!
Anyway - here’s a few photos of the boys! Still loving it and can’t wait for the Speciale to arrive in (gulp) a month - 227bhp!!!!!!

My speciale turned up yesterday
So TonyF - what do you think?
Mine will (or so I am told by the dealer) be one of the first on Magnesium Wheels, which I think is the only option on the Speciale - can’t wait to get it.
For me it’s a struggle to see how it will be rideable on the road. Nuts thing is that I’ve only ever ridden bikes with >190bhp, other than the schools trainer for a few weeks, so I’ve known nothing else!! But the FE today - absolutely bonkers - if anyone gets a chance to ride one - it blows/scrabbles your mind in equal measure!!

Not ridden it on the road and don’t intend to tbh, I’ve had the bike delivered unregistered for the roads as I only intend using it on track.Mine will (or so I am told by the dealer) be one of the first on Magnesium Wheels, which I think is the only option on the Speciale - can’t wait to get it.

Did test ride a V4s a couple of weeks back and it is very fast even with a mere 214hp !
I can’t imagine how much quicker the speciale is but I would imagine another step up over the FE, you will be able to tell once you get on yours as a comparison.

Tony, Duggan, either of you guys at the DUK trackday at Silverstone on the 31st ?
I’m coming along but don’t think I will be on my speciale as I’m recovering after a shoulder replacement. Yes ouch !duggan said:
Speciale arrived a few weeks ago. Good time to get the family together for a photo! Still absolutely loving my biking journey after four years...
Looking great! Must line up all my shabby R1's!! You could get some track fairings on your first road one (it must be fairly redundant now) and make it your first track one?
I'd ship it out to Mugello or similar rather than bother with a UK one though.
