Breaking it for parts, I had made the decision a while ago but felt 100% happy about my decision once I found a crack in the frame!
Where the rear shock linkage mounts on the frame side, one of 2 pieces is cracked through!
I'll get some pictures next time I'm up my unit. Breaking a bike is never a nice thing though

Did the frame crack due to accident damage
I'm pretty sure it didn't, it could have been weakened but I didn't notice a crack when I fitted my rebuilt rear shock which was post accident (sometime around April last year, crashed in March). I cleaned the area up as well before fitting but didn't see it... that's not to say it wasn't there.Considering how I rode that bike I'm bloody glad it was off the road in bits when I noticed, the other way doesn't bear thinking about!

I'm starting to wonder if it's why I started thinking my rear shock had gone again in such a short space of time, the reason I didn't investigate further is the chap who rebuilt it told me that it was a risk rebuilding my type of shock for one reason on another (I forget why) and it could need re-gassing in the future if it went soggy.

Unless it's since sold, I think that un-cut rear mudguard should be put away to be treated as a future investment. From this
