Bruising comes out where the blood runs to - I had something similar a few years back - although it was my ankle/foot/toes that went amazing colours, the reason was a swelling on my knee which must have popped a vein up there:
BTW, looks like you suffer ingrowing big toenail/s... my grandmother gave me a tip many years ago: clip a V in the middle of the nail, more-or-less down to the quick, and then the nail pushes in towards the middle rather than out into the skin. It took a few weeks/months to heal up, but I was a teenager then and now I'm 50 with no problems since
I had a water skiing accident some years back. Left ski went left whilst the right one went to the right. Involuntary splits. I must have ripped a fair few blood vessels as there was impressive drainage. My meat and two veg turned into an aubergine and two plums! You will be glad to know I won’t be uploading photographic evidence. Bad luck Dibble. Hope you may a quick recovery from this.
Your run of bad luck seems to be continuing. Perhaps you could post your lottery numbers and who you bet on at the Grand National…so we can pick something else!

The cure sounds worse than the problem! Get well soon Dibble. defblade said:

The cure sounds worse than the problem! Get well soon Dibble. So it's less, a lot less then.
Sort of an update…
The good news is that I had a text from the Limb Reconstruction Unit a couple of days ago. I’ve got an appointment with the orthopaedic team at the end of this month.
The less good news is that my particular surgeon has been off long term sick (I don’t know what with/why, obviously), so I’ll be seeing one of her colleagues. I know they are all good at what they do, but I’d much rather see my consultant. That aside, I hope she’s ok.
On a lighter note, I was at the scene of an arson this week and managed to fall over. Twice. Once with just a colleague, once with colleague and a load of water fairies.
I ended up having to drive back to the nick on an evidence sack, as I also had mud all over my arse from fall number one. Nothing to do with my injury, but my single pair of work shoes doesn’t have much in the way of tread and combined with wet clay soil, it was a recipe for disaster!

Doh! Sounds good news going forward for you tho Dibbs...
It’s an appointment I’ve been waiting two years for, delayed because of CoVid. In the grand scheme of things, it’s not that much. Yes, it’s a faff, but I’m still employed and otherwise ok. Many people have had a much worse time than me over the last couple of years.jimmyjimjim said:
On the plus side, you do have excellent choice in socks.
Happy Socks from Sweden. Not cheap but they do last ages. https://www.happysocks.com/uk/collection/socks-for...
Thanks!
Took me a little bit to work out how to switch it to the US, as it wouldn't allow me to ship otherwise.
Also, glad you pulled the other photos, I'd assumed you'd somehow picked up another infection (or I'm getting confused with the previous pics, I wasn't very awake last night).

There weren’t any pictures other than my muddy trousers!Took me a little bit to work out how to switch it to the US, as it wouldn't allow me to ship otherwise.

I’ll be sure to post a warning before posting any more gory pictures when I (hopefully) get the new external rail fitted.

I think I went back a page, saw the delightful mess, and assumed it was another infection, my mistake.I’ll be sure to post a warning before posting any more gory pictures when I (hopefully) get the new external rail fitted.
