Sorry to go off thread but is there a website that shows ALL bike track days ?
Who are the best organisers these days ?
Here you go:Who are the best organisers these days ?
http://www.trackdays.co.uk/calendar/bikes/
You can book via them or you can do some Googling and work out whether it's an MSV, No Limits or Focused Events day (pretty much).

Sorry but the relentless stickers look fking awful. Everything else is fine but I just find them the most chav tastic thing ever, beaten only by monster stickers. wtdoom said:

You're welcome. Now that's e have no limits as recommended organisers , do we have any trackday organisers to avoid ?
I've done both No Limits and Focused Events days, not done MSV days. I've heard good things about MSV days though. For me, No Limits seemed slightly better than Focused Events although I have booked with FE for the end of the month so I'll see what that's like. If you're doing a Euro event then the general feeling is that NL are better (although, frustratingly, FE do some great tracks on some decent (more weekend) dates).
For your first few, I doubt you'll go far wrong with any of those 3 (with NL and MSV generally getting favoured slightly - on here at least)

What's all that gay talk about not taking a roadbike to the track?
Nothing better to learn about your own bike than a TD in novices or inters. It also saves you overdoing it and lobbing it into the gravel.
You'll find your limits long before the bike's. Unless you're a complete ham fisted ape, that is.

Having only ever signed on with no limits and Knockhill track days in flabbergasted how you can fk up a track day. Why do focus events receive such bad press
I'm not really sure. The only bad thing I have to say about focused is the poor customer service away from the track days. I cancelled a track day I had with them last year giving 3 weeks notice. Whereas NL would have given credit, FE offered nothing. The actual running of the track days I've never had a problem with though. And I think the Euro ones are better than the NL ones, due to the chrono thing where they organise you by lap times.

Ok lets use mtb as an example. Ride my bike to track and some other nob choppers bike falls on mine taking a chunk out of my bike.Nothing better to learn about your own bike than a TD in novices or inters. It also saves you overdoing it and lobbing it into the gravel.

I have no requirement to learn my bikes limit on track. I'd rather pay someone money and use theirs. End of.

I'm actually thinking bks to it and do a few days on the Fireblade... have done so for the last 4-5yrs now each year on my road bike but you have to consider you can never push as hard as you can with a dedicated track bike as it is always in the back of your mind that you need to either ride it home or use it for work the next day. If you keep that in mind and just enjoy it then you'll have fun... if you really want to push outside your comfort zone then doing it on a road bike isn't a good idea.
