Quite possibly , it took 6 weeks by ship to get here this year! (couldn't fly due to Covid)
Sounds like a mega posting, but there is no way I could spend that long if a time on a boat. I am like the BA Baracus of boats.Edited by AceOfHearts on Wednesday 10th February 13:47

Managed to get some decent miles in testing this today. It’s very, very good. Dash rivals the BMW one, engine is brilliantly smooth and doesn’t feel detuned! Front hovers nicely in third gear off the throttle...
I bet it doesnt feel detuned at all mid February!Does it still sound good on the stock pipe?
Whats the asking price for one ?

I'm a mechanical tech at Halley VI research station. Been here here for the past 2 summer seasons. On my way back home soon though AceOfHearts said:
Not much to see of the boat journey really, just lots of Atlantic Ocean! Stopped at Las Palmas and the Falklands for fuel but weren't allowed off the boat. We then arrived at Rothera Station (stayed for a few days waiting for a weather window) and from there is a 10 hour flight by Twin Otter to Halley.
Have you considered posting about your job? I assume that isn't a non-stop 10 hour flight in a Twin Otter???AceOfHearts said:

Wish we had some "proper" snow rather than the panic driven weather forecasts that equate to a light dusting which lasts a few hours...I've had to resort to pedal power.
Can't wait to get back on a motorbike!

Careful what you wish for. It's been -20C here for the past two weeks, and we've got another two weeks to go. Even the dog hates going out.

I cant be the only one who looked at those photos and thought ... If only that had a little engine fitted to it. I've had to resort to pedal power.
Can't wait to get back on a motorbike!
