Looks like you had marginally better conditions than we enjoyed at Cadwell...

Glad you had good weather George, we had ideal conditions at Portimao last week, another cracking trip ...

Cheers thumbup

Fairly happy with it since it turns out I rode the last 2 days with a broken scaphoid in my throttle hand!

They keep them at the transport yard for two weeks, so you can pick them up after quarantine.

Great trip to Portimao with NL, always good to catch up with the normal crowd and even more appreciative of being able to do a Euro TD given the current circumstances.

Happy with my pace, bashed out some half decent times and can still see loads of opportunities for improvement.

The surface is quite abrasive and slippery off line, managed to rip up a set of tyres in two sessions on the first day. Tyre ware was super sensitive and dependent on getting the perfect pressures and compounds.

Here’s some footage of a decent lap - https://youtu.be/L1v60Uh7aaY

And footage of when it wasn’t going so right - https://youtu.be/HcMA7oVq2Sg

Had a track day booked for some time on Tuesday which ended up being the day after a recent tragic event with a mate of mine. Drove up the monday night with my head over thinking and having some quiet time by myself which was nice

Was very lucky with weather. It was wet first session and I couldnt be bothered to switch to wets so did my sighting laps then came in and sat out next session which was wet with drying patches

By third session track had dried on the main lines and I really enjoyed feeling the GSXR round there. I've said a few times but its such a good bike from stock on track. I am finding the electronics a bit restrictive though - mainly the WC

Maybe a visit to one of the GSXR specialists to get a full system, flash, velocity stacks and tweak the TC/WC settings. I was running in 3-4 though which might have been a bit high (It goes to 10) but on 1-2 it doesn't really come in so defeats the whole 'having TC' in my opinion. I've ridden enough bikes without it but approaching 40 I just like some creature comforts

Got some new leathers & boots too. Dainese D-Air which is really nice, comfy and took minimal break in time. I'm booked for Almeria next month but with this poxy Covid, lockdown, quarantine etc I'm really unsure right now

It was good to get on the bike, ran 1.39s and just felt really good on the bike. One fairly big slide on Melbourne hairpin that had me giggling to myself. Just got on it too early, too much lean and TC did bugger all. Shame nobody got it on camera - took my feet clean off the pegs!

1.39 is a good time Birky looking at your photo's your style has changed a lot for the better since I was on track with you. I've not been on track there since, so 3 years.

Nearly 40, I'd love to be that young again, keep at it and have fun because one day you'll be an old fart like me.

He is being modest .... he was the fastest rider there and popped in a 1:52, was annoying sharing a garage with him lol ....

Visited Lydden Hill today and thoroughly enjoyed it. I’d decided that should I have felt like I did after my last TD I’d not bother again, but it was marvellous fun.

I’ve got the winter now to fix my Ninja, get some leathers that fit and maybe a trailer of some sort.

That's always the same when a new surface is put down, and it takes a while for the sharp edges on the stones to round off a bit
Nice riding in the vid too

Hopefully, we're off to Almeria in 3 weeks time on Dec 5th (fingers crossed)
Tracksense had a trip to Jerez over the weekend that was shared with a German company, and around 45 Brits made the trip out for it
New laws in Spain say we have to have a Negative PCR test within 3 days of travelling, but other than that, it looks like it's going to go ahead
Been bloody itching to ride too

That Laguna Trip looked to be an amazing one, so I can see why you're gutted
We were supposed to be in Jerez with NL next weekend, but that got cancelled, so we booked Almeria instead
It's all looking positive to go ahead so far and we drop the bikes on Saturday, but you never know what's around the corner this year and who knows if it'll go ahead or not
