Is that why your changing the bars ?

If so what difference does it make ? Or can you buy them to be for eg 10mm further forward or higher / lower than standard etc. Sorry if that's a stupid question.

Was this the mate who was a "hothead / liability" on page 8 of the Northern ride out thread

Note sure about sticking the slow / unpredictable chaps at the front. It can result in a multiple bike incident, far better at the back, learning about speed / position / overtakes but still recognising their own limitations and letting the faster chaps go when the time comes - i.e. switched on using the brain as opposed to the dangly undercarriage.
There is merit in that too I suppose - especially from the learning point of voiew. Risks either way though... Although someone slow at the front is very different to unpredictable. But then the fast guys end up getting bored and grabbing overtakes when the slow guy at the front doesn't have the experience to do so.

Yep it was the same guy i called a hot head. dont i feel mean, nevermind.

If it was a stranger id just simply not ride with strangers again but as its one of my best mates i think the best thing is to just remember when i am with him to slow it right down.
My main two riding buddies ones a fair bit faster than me and the others very similar to me so usually its not an issue. I obviously knew what this guy was like and i should of just used a bit of common sense and kept slower. I know its his duty to take care of himself at the end of the day but i dont want to be the one to go back to his wife and tell her any bad news. and for the sake of reigning myself in a bit, i should of just used a bit more common sense. Again its easy to say he should of used some but ifs and buts etc. Hopefully its a wake up call for him and he'll buy the harley hes always dreamed of ha.

Its not nice seeing someone crash, I had a random bloke and his Mrs crash in front of me last year.

He was fine Mrs was on her back in a ditch rolling about like a upside down turtle and it took a lot of pulling to get a Bussa out of a hedge biggrin

It was his own fault, when he saw me behind him he upped his pace and lost the front a few miles later. Didn't help me feel bad about it though.

Its the problem with group riding.

Go at your own pace.

But what can you do if the guy behind is trying like a bear and your riding at 50%

Guess the most sensible thing to do is let him lead

Glad to see you're ok. At least you got some good photos out of it, makes the crashing less irritating. I've crashed loads and the only photo I've got of it is me picking the bike up at Anglesey frown

Would have liked some from my recent off, the marshall told me it was quite spectacular.

I'm not a woe is me type of guy and I don't blame myself but at the same time I know I could of stopped it for the sake of wanting to get a small kick out of plodding along. I think I just forget as well on the r1 cruising along in the middle of the revs in 3/4/5th is probably straining an old bandit.
I know what he's like but won't stop riding with him as he's a good mate. We usually all do our part in keeping him in check.
I need to either get a small engine/powered bike on again so I can feel like I'm pushing on and not tax anyone else or stop being a moaner and deal with it.
TBH looking at the pics on a bigger screen than my phone, he had a Bandit on 021s. There is no way it'd have kept up with a moderately well ridden R1. If he didn't realise that then it's nothing to do with you.

I can't keep up (except with Yazza) when I do the northern rideouts on here, so I don't. Arriving late hurts a lot less than crashing.

100,007miles after full service and clean.

Tell ya what, with the first new plugs & air filter in over 50k plus all the other bits done it rides like a new bike compared to last week.

Yummy. There is just something about Guzzi Le Mans. The simplicity and purity of design that I love. Sadly they are fast accelerating away from my wallet.

Enjoy it and it will help build muscles in your clutch hand and throttle hand lol.

On the motorway. A slight left hander coming up before my junction so tip it in about 90 it's not even really a corner then crack.

I'm down face first on the tank foot scrapping the floor bike with a wee wobble.

Got off the motorway and took it off.

People shouting and swearing at me for fixing it by the side of the road.

Stuck it into first. I was aiming for 2nd.

Had to ride home at 30 mph for next few mile

I got overtaken by a lorry om a corner on a bridge with double white limes.

Shouted at.

Over taken in 30s doing 30.

I'd moved over like a cyclist. People generally being super helpful when they can see a guy limping his bike home doing the rossi dangle.

Only ever been on one BB ride out with you and that bike has impressive torque out of corners.

Well done not coming off. I bet that was a bit off putting when it happened.
