Getting slippy, going to treat it to some decent tyres over winter instead of the oem dunlops i use over summer!
Me too! The dunlops have almost caught me out a couple of times on bends/roundabouts - Im either going for a Motoz GPS rear and a Pirelli/Michellin front or a pair of Pirelli Rally STR's Sea Demon said:

Found out yesterday that Honda have denied (again) my wheel corrosion claim and are not willing to take it any further.
They say a salt liquid has got passed the valve causing the internal corrosion of the wheels.
So I'm left with a 11 month old Africa Twin with internal corrosion, and quite bad at that.
Thanks Honda.

"Salt liquid has passed the wheel stem", What the juddering f
k does that mean?
When you ride on Salty road the expectation is you remove your tyre from the rim and then clean it out? How is the wheel then fit for purpose?
I think you may be able to take this further mate... It is mental...

Agreed, this seems ludicrous. They replaced mine no question. Keep pushing and hammering Honda and the dealership on social media. ![](/inc/images/censored.gif)

On 1 of the Facebook groups, an owner has managed to reject his bike and is handing it back to the dealer (Maidstone) after they/Honda refused to replace his front wheel, 2 months after they replaced the rear & on top of that its had 2 new tanks/filters due to the tank lining coming away and it conking out, think its just over a year old.

Just for accuracy the bike isn't going back to the dealer it is going back to the finance company .Looking forward to giving mine back next September.
I have moved from Volvo to a new Honda Civic sport. Tried to claim on that as the steering wheel leather has come off at the 12noon position. It has 16k on the clock. They won’t accept it as they state I use hand cream! Bloody joke. My Volvo has 140k on the clock and the steering wheel looked brand new. To rub salt in the wounds they have offered me a new steering wheel at the bargain price of £600!

Thanks, I've had a read of his journey. Interesting. https://www.facebook.com/groups/294813080719978/pe...
How bad is the reliability really on these? I have read some horror stories like above, but considering how many they have sold, I'm not sure I have read any more than for most other bikes. Understandably those with the most negative stories shout loudest.
I could fancy a DCT Adventure Sports to replace my Thruxton, with the plan to do a lot more commuting on it. - The tank range is not quite good enough on the Thruxton. 2 days of commuting leaves less than 0.5l in the tank, and I know one day I will be a bit enthusiastic and get caught out not quite at home.
