Sad indeed.

I have a debate going on with a family member and they are of the opinion it should be banned as it's a waste of life. I disagree but sympathise of course but they, and their family know the risks.

What say PH?
As a road racer myself, I am well aware of the risks involved. I have raced with Alan Bonner in the past and he was a great, down to earth guy. A lot of people don't "get" road racing, asking why do we do it and is it all worth it etc. The simple answer is yes. In this day of health and safety and red tape, it is one of the few liberating experiences. Nothing else makes you fell so alive as running flat out down a public road with like minded souls. Long may it continue.
My thoughts and feelings too although my racing was mx and I retired due to a life changing injury. If asked would I risk it all again, I'd do it in a blink

My son now also competes at club level

Bit of an update on my 2017 IOM adventure

I put a couple mountain runs (only managed 3 due to the crap weather most of the time there unfortunately) up on YouTube and was contacted by the BBC this morning asking for my consent on the footage to be shown

They are doing a documentary on the emergency services, the IOM itself and the racing so the email says so I have given my consent asking for a acknowledgement that they came from me

He said he would email nearer the time on the dates it is to be broadcasted so I will put the link up all being well for anyone thats interested
