Well it's quite funny until you consider the GOAT couldn't make the Duke work for him....
As ever, it's easy to take the piss out of a multiple world champion from the comfort of a keyboard and a FB account.....
As with Marquez when he joined the MGP circus, Folgar and Co have a lot to prove, whereas the likes of Rossi, Marquez and Lorenzo don't.
No denying Lorenzo has a mountain to climb, but writing his chances off after limited testing on what is generally perceived to be a difficult bike to ride and just one race, is hardly giving him a fair crack at the job !
I would suggest that the current Duke is a whole different beast from a few years ago, what I am looking forward to is how long will it talk Jorge to learn the new bike and show what he can do.As ever, it's easy to take the piss out of a multiple world champion from the comfort of a keyboard and a FB account.....

Think that the new riders in Moto GP are not intimidated by the older ones, good to see.

With what? 2 test days, a couple of practise sessions and a race, I think he did fine. Although it's not the bike Rossi rode, it's still known as a difficult bike to ride.
Dovi has spent quite a lot of time on the bike so in my opinion, that argument doesn't hold up. He'll be alright in the end I'm sure.

Just to add fuel to the fire. What about Stoner in testing? Had done small amounts of testing (I'm sure no more in terms of time compared to Jorge) yet was up the top. I'm sure things change during a race but I have no doubts Stoner would still have won. I'll wait for someone to tell me I'm beating a dead horse.

Apples and oranges. Highly unlikely Stoner was riding a bike specced exactly the same as the race bikes. After all... He's testing Having just watched the race, I must admit that Zarco (prior to the crash) looked remarkably comfortable at the front. I did think before the season started that he'd be at the pointy end of things, as two championships in Moto2 - the first largely at a canter, and the second hard fought - was not to be sniffed at.
Great to see Iannone up to speed on the Suzuki, as it was to see Mav on the Yam.
It's early days, but it's shaping up to be a very interesting season.

Different riders like bikes to be set up differently. Everyone knows Stoner could ride anything and win, whereas Lorenzo needs it to be perfectly set up for him.
And this ^ making the Ducati work for Lorenzo is akin to doing this to a Mini :Sure, it can be done, but it's not work of 5 minutes. When Lorenzo gels with the bike and the tyres and finds himself on a circuit in weather conditins that play to his and the bike's strengths, I've no doubt he'll deliver the goods. Granted, that's a lot of caveats/asking for a lot of planets to align, but it can happen (Stoner springs to mind) and let us not forget, when Lorenzo finds the sweet spot, it makes for an amazing spectacle.

Lorenzo, Dovizioso and Pirro have had a private test at Jerez. Lorenzo doing 84 laps.
Notice the new wing fairing now painted up in the background on the right covered in plastic, which looks like it might be appearing soon.

Forgot about that, were any of them running their new fairings at Qatar? Couldn't tell, but I guess that's the whole point Notice the new wing fairing now painted up in the background on the right covered in plastic, which looks like it might be appearing soon.
