I've got a ferry booked to Bilbao for me and my bike, my only plan at the moment is to meet some friends In Germany the following weekend.
The rest of the week will be mountains, sun and the open road
Be careful with France at the mo – my Dad's had his ride to Corsica scuppered this week by fuel strikes. He's settled for a week in Belgium instead. Er…The rest of the week will be mountains, sun and the open road
As for me, I've just fitted a Sena to my girlfriend's helmet, so we'll probably go out for a ride to see if we can hear each other!
"Who dares wins Rodders"
Fingers crossed the buggers stay a bit quiet till after the return leg
In between car fettling today, (of which there was much), managed to get front wheel off the ZZR1100 and fit new brake disks, then, with the access, replace the leaking radiator. Now there's a fighting chance of it getting back on the road and getting an MOT, I filled the battery with acid and it's currently on charge.
More on it tomorrow (and more on the cars hopefully).
Cheers,
Tom

Trip to the coast won out in the end. Six counties, a few punch ups with sportsbikes, tossers in Audis and confused Bank Holiday folk.
Yamaha Tracer slightly more uncomfy two up than an old R1 - who would have thought?! Must buy the comfy seat option thingy when it's having it's first service next weekend.

Also did a trip to the coast – down to Brighton from SW20, via the A24, Cowfold and the Devil's Dyke road. Some completely out-of-it car drivers and one unfortunate biker laying in the middle of the road in one of the more rural villages on the A24 – hope you're OK whoever you are. He was surrounded by townsfolk and the ambulance arrived as we got there.
The run down to Brighton was gorgeous though, and the Multistrada just still does its thing two up. I'll get a decat pipe and remap later in the year to cure the flatspot in the middle of the rev range though.
His 'n' hers boots…

Not sure now. Chatted to a mate who has been before and he said it was a bit too 'Shoreditch Lifestyle' what with the checked shirts, tattoos, beards and barbers etc
I went to the Revival custom show at the Austin MotoGP in Texas last year and that was great, free to get in (as opposed to £18), free wall of death show and varied visitors from sportsbike riders, thru Harley chaps to the retro hipster blokes and it seemed fairly inclusive. Bikeshed thing looks in danger of disappearing up itself.
Decided to ride up to The Bike Shed from Portsmouth on the faithful old CB and, yes it is indeed a bit 'Shoreditch', but you can't fault the bikes on display. There is some phenomenal skill on display. I hope it manages to carry on for a while yet as it was a refreshing change to the normal bike show fair. All in all it was a laid back day out for 15 quid (ticket bought on line, minutes before leaving the house) and I even enjoyed the ride up. The ride back through central London though was hellish, even for a Sunday afternoon. Huge respect to those of you who ride through there every day.I went to the Revival custom show at the Austin MotoGP in Texas last year and that was great, free to get in (as opposed to £18), free wall of death show and varied visitors from sportsbike riders, thru Harley chaps to the retro hipster blokes and it seemed fairly inclusive. Together with a nice long ride on my lovely new (to me, at least) SP1 yesterday, it's been a fantastically bikey weekend so far!!
Had a 100 mile run out to Birling gap, first trial run with what will be my full touring setup for camping: Kriega US30 and 2x US20's, and a tank bag.
Considering it only has 50bhp the performance impact wasn't that much with all the luggage on board, apart from in 5th/6th and trying to roll on from 60mph. Just means I'll have to rev a little more Oh and it fell nicely into the corners for some reason
When I'm wearing my kevlar jeans on tour my leather trousers will get put on top where the jacket is in that pic, they'd take up too much room in the bags otherwise.
