RE: New Suzuki GSX-R1000 unwrapped
Discussion
I have to say, ignoring all performance/technical attributes it may have, I think it's a very average looking bike.
If (and please realise I never will be) I was in the market for a litre sports bike, this would be at the bottom of my list based purely on it being a Suzuki and it being pretty boring to look at.
Latest offereings of R1, Fireblade, S1000RR, etc. all look much, much nicer.
I would expect this to be cheaper, though?

Ever driven a car with VVT,? It is a noticable kick,
Cam profile swapping systems like Honda's VTEC can give a kick, but mainly because the mapping (in their cars at least) is adjusted to enhance the 'kick' (by changing profiles at a non-optimal RPM). It's quite possible to map them for a smooth transition but most car drivers want to feel the kick.Rosscow said:
Head on pic like these ones?
And lots of others, on the Suzuki website:

I'll take that back, those pictures make it look ok, particularly in silver. Keen to see one for real now.And lots of others, on the Suzuki website:

There's probably another silencer/cat behind the fairing. Look at the current S1000RR, cat & silencer to meet regs.
Looks like there is (behind the sump in this pic)anonymous said:

That's the race bike based off the new GSX-R for the world endurance championship. It's SERT, not SRT.anonymous said:

I was fairly indifferent to it when I originally saw the pictures in 2015, but in the flesh at the NEC, compared to the other Jap offerings and the BMW, it looked good. The only bike I thought looked as good/ better was the Panigale. But you pay top dollar for the name on that tank, for no appreciable benefit other than pose value. If (and please realise I never will be) I was in the market for a litre sports bike, this would be at the bottom of my list based purely on it being a Suzuki and it being pretty boring to look at.
