ZZR1400, had mine for 18 months, 215Kg with 105 lb/ft. It's perfect for 2 up touring the European Alps - I do that several times a year. It's also not a massive bike, so easy to hussle around and the handling is sublime smile

The small tubes at the back are for a Ventura pack that goes on the back for longer trips.

Mine probably weighs a few Kgs less with the fruity hehe pipes I installed (there are two of them, one also on the other side) :

V nice bike. thumbup
+2 Very nice indeed cool
+3 I think its a no brainer TBH... If you're looking for speed, comfort, 2 up riding, and excellent handling for its size... the ZZR is a given.

How about the BMW K1200S? Plenty of go and very comfortable (for both pillion and rider). Buy a 12 to 18 month old one with less the 5000 miles and someone else will have taken the depreciation hit. Go for the one with ESA and have hours of fun adjusting your suspension as you go along!

Hmmm, nice. However it doesn't say so much "come hither pillion pet, and be my friend" so much as "if you sit on the back of me, i'll bite your legs off".

The 1800 is a gem of an engine, btw.
really, each to there own and all that but i find every single one woefully slow.
Craig, you'll know though, that the 1800 Wing engine characteristics are ideal for a continent crosser.
The bike will still get you along at a pretty decent rate without ever needing more than 5000 rpm.
I like that motor.

Well, you have to remember that the whole of that rear cowl comes off to expose the rest of the seat pillion use, not just the top part ofthe cowl smile

I'll try and post up an audio clip of the bike running if you like. The pipes make a very nice sound (rather than noise hehe). It'll have to wait until the weather gets alot better though smile

215kg will be dry weight though yeah? Didnt kawasaki claim a bit more torque too, I remember reading 113 lb/ft on MCN or something!!

I personally like the 2008 hayabusa, I like the zzr14 from the view you have pictured but not from the front as Im not a big fan of the headlight clusters.

Looking at the pair of them at the bike show it has to be down to personal choice, both are amazing machines with superb performance!

Some 1.4 cars go well, so a modern 1400cc bike will!
Or should!

I'd go for a ZZR1400 (probably without the "please arrest me" exhaust) or Rocket 3

I've had the slip-ons for a year now and no problems. With all of the torque, in built up areas it's easy to keep to no more than 3k rpm.

Here is a clip from what seems to be some French guy with the same bike and zorsts. The microphone seems to get overloaded at a certain point because mine don't sound like that when giving it some beans (Although I've never actually been behind them hehe), maybe they have the baffles out:

Whatever your personal take on the noise levels (and I like it stealthy) it certainly looks good, especially in black.
