A misty moisty ride around the Jura yesterday morning. Left home at 7h30 back at 10h with croissants/pain aux raisins for a late breakfast.

I just glanced at the post, seeing the bike first. I read that as ‘back at 10 in constant pain’ which I thought made sense!

Local VMCC run yesterday, and surprisingly the sun was out. Took the ‘47 Chief and - touch wood - it’s running well. Only real problem was the route had a lot of stop/starts and with the foot clutch/hand shift and crash box that’s a bit on a PITA. so much nicer on the open road. Chief lurking at the end of the lineup

Today was meant to be a [classic] Triumph & BSA triples meet, but stty weather. But I’m really close to the meet and there was a break on the rain and the roads dried a bit; but all the sensible folks gave it a swerve and I was Billy-no-mates.

At least I got out and home again before the rain stated. As usual, the Hurricane sounded magnificent; must be one of the best sounding bikes ever made (and has been voted as such here and there).

Probably no more bike riding this week till Friday, and then the 500 miles down to Ashford to kick-off the OG Pyrenees jaunt. Bet it’ll be bloody raining then too.

The weather in this country is really pissing me off these days. I spend some time in the US each year and folks there can plan things - BBQ next Saturday, let’s ride next Thursday etc and they can do it as the weather will be fine. Just about everything I’ve planned this year has been canned due to the weather. frown

Indeed. 3 hours (with a 15 minute break half-way) is just the right length of ride for my 57 year old back and (more importantly) wrists. Gone are the times I could do 4-5 days on it around the Alps/Provence/Pyrenees with a (admittedly small) rucksack. When I get on the Tiger afterwards, it feels like a ballistic sofa smile

TVM. It's not very quick by today's standards and takes a good bit of TLC (it is the more delicate R version), but I'll be keeping it for a while yet.
Even after 15 years of ownership, I do occasionally go into the garage just to look at it smile

Plenty quick enough, I’m sure, if wound up. And that sound! And, well, Tamburini’s design….

I applaud you running such a thing, due to pick up my first Ducati soon as per my post above.

That 848 looks marvelous. I had a chance just pre-Covid to pick up a low-mileage Evo Corse (2012 black/grey with red frame) for £6k and hesitated a bit too long… but I don’t have enough time to ride the bikes I already own, so I hope it was bought by someone who has.

I can guarantee you’ll have that sense of ‘occasion’ when you get on board. Enjoy!

I’m having a few days riding round Skye & north west Scotland. Stopped in Applecross for a quick loo break this morning & found an unexpected hitchhiker!

What was the actual difference between the T595 and the 955? I was sure the 955 had a double swingarm but I cannot for the life of me find one for sale.

Ah, I'm thinking of the sprint.

Spotted this rather nice X7 at my local pub.

Passed my test on one of these many years ago

Did an off-road event this weekend on the CRF450RL, about 100km of tight, technical single track. My body is toast, it was hard work. Each section was completely different, separated by bits of road. But the last had some deeeeeeep mud!

I have no idea how people can do events like the ISDE, it must absolutely batter your body.

The 955 Daytona was available with a conventional swingarm but only for a year or so. I heard that the reason for renaming the 595 to 955 was people thinking 595 was the engine size.

Yellow ones are fasterwink

I forgot to ask at the time, do you have a plan view of the dash/handle bars and front on photo. I want to see what these front indicators look like attached there.

First time with wheels on in fifteen years:

Recomission was already planned, but brought forwards now. Trivial cleaning and part buying by me! Difficult phone call with DVLA tomorrow as I have no paperwork.

What a great pic. Very evocative of those times. Thank you for that.
