Re. Parking on the Mod 1, nice way to do it when pushing the bike backwards only go in a straight line (one hand on the bar one on the back), then swing it right around going forward then reverse straight back into the next one
I loved doing that test, the my instructor booked out the test area for a morning before hand so we had lots of practice on it - really good fun!

I did it! Passed Mod 2 this morning.
Got to say I didn't enjoy one minute of it.
Only advice to add to this thread is I thought I had failed about 10 minutes in. Pulling out of a junction and it was one of those "should I should I not". I thought the car might have had to brake.
However I continued to my best ability and the rest is history. Very happy and I've performed the 'L plates in the bin ceremony'

I've got my Mod 1 next week, it seemed a good idea when I booked it last week when the weather was glorious sunshine. But a weather check shows it'll be pouring with rain when I do my test next week and it's a 6 mile cycle for me to get to the training centre

Passed Mod 1 on Tuesday. Got a short notice booking for the Thursday so just went for it. Passed with 2 rider faults but I'm happy enough. Really can't believe I got one for riding at 45 in a NSL, though. The rain was pouring down, there was a fair bit of water on the road and it was gusty as hell.

Hi guys if anybody has any questions on mod1 and mod2 of the current motorcycle test feel free to ask I am a Dsa approved instructor with several schools , am only to glad to give advice , the format changed last year as did the age and bike output for the new direct access and also 24yrs old to take your test ,bikes have to be minimum 50kw and weigh more than 180kilos , anything u need to know ask away
I just did fast track training.
1st day they hadn't told my instructor I had never rode geared and I hated it mainly due to my
boots having too deep soles (newrocks are a bad idea) second day I got it pretty much straight away
but had not been taught much in the way of what to expect on part 2 as we was doing both on the 3rd day. Taught me gears but at £500 it was a expensive choice.
To rehire the bike and such for both parts no training £400 tests included.
Going to buy a vfr750 next weak or bandit 600 and have it delivered to my dads yard and do slow control for a few days then he will trailer it to the test next week. I put my foot down after leaving the figure 8 sucks.
I have heard part 1 is harder than part two here is some helpful tips for both.
Part 1.
some schools ask you to pull up at the end of the loop for the high speed parts and go on signal. Other times they say start when your ready. If they say first option ask for second this gives you a rolling start and depending on your turn into the loop will give you a nice speed before even in it.
try to increase as you go round it makes it a lot easier than throttling up on the exit.
As always stated do not look at what your trying to avoid as you will hit it.
When doing emergency stop don't forget pull to shoulder check straight after. when finishing a manoeuvre don't forget shoulder checks before pulling away to the next one (very easy mistake)
when doing a figure 8 I have been told you can include the last yellow cone to give you more room. if in doubt just ask the examiner.
Part 2.
If your coming to a roundabout he will no doubt tell you 3rd exit or such. if you don't wish to try to change lanes then just go left instead as at worst you could get a minor but doubtful but cutting in could get you a fail. if your using your own bike getting indicator beepers to help you out.
