Came away today wondering how the new fireblade is going to sell with the pricing
Standard Fireblade is £20k SP £23.7k when the competition is
R1 £16.8k R1m £22k
BMW £15.3k M Sport £19.7k
Ducati V4 £20k V4S £24.8k
It's not just the price, the attention to detail is so lacking compared to the other competition.
One thing i do know is the new 1290 superduke is a good looking bike, and some of the new MV's
My thoughts entirely. I went to look at the new Blade and was a little surprised at the price. Speaking to a representative on the stand I was told that they were not particularly aiming it at selling to the public but the focus was on winning TT,WSB and BSB. And profits for Honda would come from elsewhere, i.e. Africa Twin. Sitting on the bike it did seem far less comfortable than my current one, is this more track focused? I don't know. Leave that to some of the track people on here. Just left a little confused is this bike for me, a very enthusiastic road rider, or not. What about the adage win on Sunday sell on Monday?Standard Fireblade is £20k SP £23.7k when the competition is

The higher spec BMW is still cheaper than the basic Fireblade.

I thought he'd made a mistake as my mate runs a CRF250 and it makes 26bhp but MCN said:
"When seeing the spec sheet of the 450L many thought that there had been a mistake on the bhp figure. Honda claim 24bhp, which is practically the same as the 250L and around 20bhp less than you would expect from a modern 450cc single. But there is no mistake, to increase service intervals and meet strict Euro4 regulations 24bhp is all you have."
Ah, I thought it was a typo."When seeing the spec sheet of the 450L many thought that there had been a mistake on the bhp figure. I like the look of the CRF250 Rally and thought a 450 version would be a perfect proper adventure bike but it's so much more expensive than the 250 and pushes it into "proper" bike territory.

Ducati.
Have my reservations about the heat aspect but I probably would still own one at some point.
I’ve got a V4, people complaining about the heat aspect really arnt underselling it!, other than that though it’s a great bike.Have my reservations about the heat aspect but I probably would still own one at some point.
I’m also really surprised about the price of the Fireblade, noticed the standard R1 has had a bit of a price increase too, I thought they were £15kish new?.
Whoever said the BMW represents good value next to the competition isn’t wrong, the new S1000RR is by all accounts an amazing bike, they all are at superbike level though, Honda would have been worth that price if they’d built a V4 but unsurprisingly they chickened out again.

I cant remember the name of it right now? but I'd love to see the show adopt the style of one of the big shows they have in America which combines everything from Motorcross, Dirt track, customs, road racing, plus the usual NEC type show etc ... all under one huge roof, which is what the NEC has.
I think Jamie Robinson covered it on his motogeo youtube channel once and it looked excellent.

Not sure I’d want to “people” anyway, this whole thing has really changed my social outlook.
I think that Motorcycle Live died when exhibitors swapped giving out brochures for collecting data.
Without the plethora of carrier bags of reading materials, I had actually forgotten about the show 2 weeks after going.
When reminded about it, the only thing that stuck in my mind was being ripped off by the parking fees.

In contrast with Motorcycle Live, I went to this year’s London motorcycle show at Excel and had fun. Lots of new bikes, sitting on the Rocket 3, decent retail and half-decent entertainment.Salted_Peanut said:

Shame this one has been delayed, but it's probably a good idea - at the moment no-one's sure how big public events like this would work with the remnants of Covid kicking about. Better to have it back on form next year than neutered and weird this year.

After the show we would all go through the brochures, planning our next bike purchases.
The last few times I have been, all I have done is give my email address and details to a random, marketing girly, or entered them into a dumb tablet and received an email from the manufacturer a few days later.
The whole thing has lost it's sense of being an "event".
About 2 weeks after going to the last show, I received a survey from the organisers. I had completely forgotten that I had been.
But that could just be my age.
And £12 parking???
Went to another show at the NEC with SWMBO and not only were the tickets cheaper, but parking was free.
