Loving my new S1000R Sport

So after a bit of a delay the BMW S1000R Sport was available for collection late July – My riding was interrupted by a 2 week holiday, so it’s not quite run in yet, but I'm can use up to 9k RPM and it's bloody quick.

I've fitted a tail tidy (new plate fitted after these pictures were taken) and a rad / oil cooler guard plus some front & rear spindle protectors all from Evotech but other than that the bike is as it came with the Akro end can, HP levers and larger screen fitted by BMW.









This bike is an absolute hoot.

I can’t wait until the 1st service is out of the way and I can access all the revs + Dynamic Pro mode.

Not wishing to detract from what is a very fine motorcycle but that brake fluid reservoir looks really odd. Enjoy the bike though!

Very nice indeed. My favourite colour choice and a tasteful selection of mods too. If I can get over the asymmetrical headlights I could certainly see myself replacing the Street Triple with an S1000R at some point.

As an ex S1000RR owner one question though, what the hell is dynamic pro mode?.

Well nearly. It's one of riding modes that alter throttle response, traction control and extent of ABS intervention, anti-wheelie etc. From new you get Rain, Road and Dynamic. Dynamic Pro gives the lowest level of intervention and is enabled by the dealer at 1st service.

TC and ABS can also be switched off independently if you wish.

The suspension damping is also electronically adjustable - you get soft, normal and hard for 1 or 2 up at the press of a button, in addition to being able to adjust preload manually to suit ride weight.

Clever stuff - fingers crossed it's reliable over time.

Lol... well I have a similar situation as my other bike is Ducati MTS 1000 which is also not a pretty bike.

I should be stripping it down into a supermoto streetfighter naked in the autumn.

Should be fun.

There is a lower spec base version with less kit e.g it doesn't have the electronic damper control or the quick shifter.

Yes, but the decent ones I have seen are quite expensive. Should be more choice over the coming months.
