Does this bike seem alright? - Newbie!
Discussion
After passing my test I'm now on the hunt for a bike , I want a CBR600. Come across this one which stood out to me, how does it stack up to you guys with a bit more knowledge? Also what price would you be expecting to pay roughly?

Dodgy chav plate, badboi exhaust and poor grammar so probably been ragged, frame has obviously been welded together, blatant seem right above the fairing bolt.
unduly harsh. doesnt look a bad buy. OP if you're unsure take someone a bit more experienced with you. also worth checking out kawasaki zx6r 2005. similar styling and decent bike (was my 1st).Edited by scarble on Tuesday 7th July 18:13

fk me, that is blatant. Is that meant to be one piece?OP, why does this stand out? It's an auction that's already at £2400 and got 6 days to run
Thanks guys. I know a lot of vehicles with extras on always suggest they've been thrashed about a lot, but then it is a sports bike at the end of the day, people rarely buy these things to ride about like a granny every day.
It stands out as I just like the look of it , want one in red/black and from around 2003-2008ish.
It is an auction with plenty of time left I know, but he's after somewhere in the region of £2800 for it.
The values of these CBR's seem to be a little bit all over the place! 2007/2008 models don't appear to be all that much more expensive.

The poster above me stated it had been welded together. I enquired if it was meant to look like that. I don't know about motorcycle frames, you're quite right. I was curious.
Condescending prat.

You mardy prick. I meant to quote the one above, but clearly, you're a bit too precious. The poster above me stated it had been welded together. I enquired if it was meant to look like that. I don't know about motorcycle frames, you're quite right. I was curious.

Go tell mummy.
As confirmed previously that weld is supposed to be there.

It appears to be a pretty clean bike.
I looked at the CBR600RR, R6, and ZX6R as my first bike - ended up buying the ZX6R. Very happy with it and will do me for another year or so.

I was going for either an F or an RR but now have decided on an RR as I just prefer them! Yeah, I have done quotes, back as around the £400 ish mark fully comp or £198 TPFT, I can live with that! Bonuses of living in the middle of nowhere!
Ahh that's good - the difference between an F and an RR (or any 600 sports) was a lot for me just after passing my test - £500 fully comp for the F and £1200-1500 full comp for the RR. That was doing 10k a year mind. There's plenty of RR's out there to choose from, have a look at a few and pick the best.
Damn, I thought I'd got the hang of being really fricking obvious but clearly not. Doesn't help that the icon fell of my post during my 100000 edits for typos.
At least I gave Loon a chance to blaze in righteous fury.
Op, from the ad nothing would make me run away, it does look a good straight bike as far as anyone can tell from a few dull blurry photos on the internet, but you really need to see it in the flesh to be sure and listen to it idle from cold and go over it with a fine toothed comb, poke your nose in every cranny looking for corrosion, squeeze the hoses, sniff it, caress the paint work and fondle the grips and er.. you get the idea.
Then, if you do buy it, put a proper plate on it

Haha! touch the bike up a bit, got it! Is that plate actually legal? Then, if you do buy it, put a proper plate on it
