Hello. Just wondering if anyone has visited the Milan Motorcycle show and if so how does it differ from the NEC show later in the month? Is it a good venue?

I was thinking of going to see the new BMW S1000RR (which may or not be launched ...) and other lovely bikes and 'models'.

Go most years. Here are a couple threads with pics from past years. Best motorbiking static event there is.

Have been a few times. Agree with the previous poster. Best static show there is.

A couple pics snapped from Milan of some mainstream highlights.

I'm not sure what market KTM are targeting with that bike but I don't think much of their model!
It's good that they removed the steps before the photo was taken
I'd agree, it's not my best side but what a great bike the SDGT has turned out to be. Best colours too :-)

Back on topic, I can only echo what others have said, it's a great show but it's HUGE! Millan is a great city so we stayed for a few days to sample the local food & wine.

Good memories Ade!

If you've got time book a tour at the ducati factory / museum in bologna as well, only a short train ride away.

Milans a great show, plus you get to enjoy a great city....

I think Intermot @ Munich is actually a better show, but its in Germany......

Get to milan central station by bus https://www.milanairportsguide.com/linate-airport-...

Then grab either
Metro: line M1 (or red line) -> drop off on RHO Fieramilano station
Suburban rail: lines S5 and S6 -> drop off on RHO Fieramilano station

https://www.fair-point.com/venue/fiera-milano/

or pay €70-100 taxi

I went last year. If at a UK show not being able to get near an R1 for 3 blokes in adventure gear complaining about how uncomfortable it is annoys you then try not to go on Saturday/Sunday, the crowds are on a different level (see first picture below). Still, it does have its good points...

And for the ladies...

If you are there at the weekend 9-11 November and old stuff is your bag then a trip to Mostra Scambio is well worthwhile. It is right next to Linate airport and is a large motorbike jumble, though also has lots of stalls and vintage complete bikes...
