I have the Hypermotard and Superduke on my shortlist. Yep, I know, they are different types of bike. Will be used for sunny day blats and track days.....no commuting. Just canvassing opinion from those who own or have ridden them.

I haven't ridden the Hypermotard, but I've had a Superduke now for over 6 months and it is fantastic!

On twisty roads the grunt coming out of bends is enough to keep me ahead of my mates on litre in-line fours, the suspension is quality as is the finish of the bike. It likes a drink, mind, and has a small tank so I have to fill up pretty frequently, but that's a small price top pay for a laugh-a-minute bike!

On a fast track you'll lose out on top speed compared with sportsbikes, but my guess is it would be hard to beat on a smaller, twisty track. If you test ride one, make sure it's had the gearing changed and has Akrapovic pipes as this makes a huge difference to the performance, handling and noise.

KTMs might not be as 'polished' as the Jap stuff but are great fun bikes and they're nicely different.
