Do you realise you could be adding 0.01Sec to your standing qtr mile times with additional weight on stuff like that?

Jeez man, take the OE toolkit out and pop that RAC card under the seat.

On a more serious note, from my expierence if I couldnt fix whatever was wrong with a spare fuse and/or the OE toolkit nothing else was going to get me going and it was a recovery job.

If your travelling in the UK and are in some form of breakdown organisation just relax, help is never far away.

If your going further afield I might add a puncture repair kit but apart from that(certainly on a sports bike with little storage area) you dont want to cart all manner of crap you may need once in a decade around with you..IMHO

10mm ratchet spanner, multitool, cable ties. anything they can't fix means it's an AA job anyway.

eBay or get a price from a dealer, you'll probably find its cheaper at the dealer looking at some of the prices (inc postage)chancers ask for them.

125 eh?It has more than likely got tubed tyres then so that takes away any requirement for tyre bungs or a tyre weld of whatever brand, in case you was wondering why they only work only tubeless tyres.

Its a bleeding Honda as well, new-ish 4 stroke? it wont ever break down anyway!

nah its a 2003 NSR, dont think they have tubed tires, but it does, it is a case of, change it like a pushbike tube? or a bit more complicated than that?

damn sight harder to get off the rim & you need to mark the tyre in relation to the rim so you put it back the same or it'll be out of balance.
i think a NSR is tubeless too, its too sporty for tubed tyres id guess.

If a job can't be done with cable ties and gaffa tape it's not worth doing!

As above gaffa, cables ties, some latex gloves, the standard tool kit, plus an Allen key set multitool thingy and a footpump (it's tiny but handy http://www.inter-bike.co.uk/inter-bikeshop/default... and a cargo net just in case of spontaneous purchases.

If you don't do much work yourself, it's a good idea to check in your manual which tools are propreitary to the bike as the last thing you want is to RAC it to a garage then get a call the next day saying "we can't get your wheel off as we don't have the tool", forcing you to get the train down there or something equally as annoying.

Under my seat are the following...
Can of that tyre puncture repair inflator stuff
'Plug it' puncture repair kit (those mushroom plug things you insert with a special tool)
Jump leads
Spare standard H4 headlamp bulb (in case my HID system fails)
OE tool kit
Bungee cords x2

(Plus a disk lock and waterproof over trousers)

My Yam OE toolkit is pretty good and enough to do most basic jobs from whipping off a pannel to adjusting the chain. I use Ultraseal in the tyres and don't carry a puncture repair kit. Gaffa tape, cable ties, and torch are usually never far away. I don't bother with spare bulbs though, I've got twin headlights and tail lights so work on the principle if one goes I can still make it home or to somewhere that sells them.

My R1 carries;
- std toolkit÷ratche,
- allen key multitool,
- tyre plugs and gas cylinders,
- a length of thin hose for syphoning juice,
- tie wraps,jub clips,
- blade fuses and puller,
50k miles and everything has been used as a get you home measure.
Tie wraps were really usefull to make a temp (2kmile) gearlever on a dropped blade using a spoon off the brekie table!
