Here considering the purchase of a bluetooth enabled helmet. My consideration for this potential purchase is to work together with my Zumo 550 to listen to the navigation prompts and from time to time the music when going long distance and between locations.

Has anybody here got experience with some of these, the only brand that I have seen is the viper helmets that have this facility. I welcome your thoughts, are they worth their money?

Thanks,

Andy

I bought one of the Nolan N103's. Seems an OK helmet and does work with my Zumo but I don't use it anymore because, like most of the bluetooth helmets, it is so big and heavy.I manage with the Zumo by just glancing at it for visual directions.

Save your cash and buy an Autocam (half price sale on now) or Starcom. Bluetooth lids are heavy and noisy IME.

I've got a Caberg Justissimo GT for this purpose. Its a decent lid, but as others have said, comparitively heavy and noisy compared to "normal" lids.

I have a Cardo Scala Rider Q2 Bluetooth Headset - it connects to my Tomtom Rider 2 via bluetooth, plus it has an inbuilt FM receiver (great for listening to my iPod via an FM transmitter).

They are really simple to install and can connect via bluetooth to your phone for hands free mobile (with Tomtom rider you need to connect your phone to it rather than the Scala directly)

Thanks for the advice, I passed by the shop today and saw a few helmets. As stated, they are heavier and on that basis I think the scala rider kit wins!!!

I see that these kits are available in more than one outlet so prices could be keen.

Cheers all,

Andy
