As per the title really. Want to know the 2nd hand/trade price on a bike - those few listed for sale vary widely.

Cheers for anyone who can help.

Not sure if Glass & CAP do a bike guide too. I've a suspicion the trade may use CAP ??

I checked there site, but didn't see the bike bit. Then again, I only gave it about 20 seconds.

Parkers don't list what I am after - a 2008 model.

Just searched the net. Glass do an online valuation & charge £3.50 ! You can also access CAP via Autotrader/Biketrader also for a fee.

Parkers do online and sell a book as well, however their prices are generally way off the mark.

If you want the best idea of what it's worth, go into a bike shop and ask; most will use the green book, which is the most accurate guide in the uk, and most will give you a rough valuation from that without expecting you to start talking a trade-in deal.

Thanks all. I think speaking (ie. bull shltting) to a dealer may be the best option. While there are a not that many bikes on the market, asking price and what they actually sell for are likely to be two very different numbers.

Thread resurrection! Only 10 years...

Looks like Parkers don't do this any more and I can't find any others except the webuyanybike type who want to phone you to discuss. Anyone found anywhere else where you can get a price, other than just comparing adverts? BMW K1600GT, blue, 68 plate, 4k miles, 2 owners, beyond immaculate.

wewantyourmotorbike

They'll e-mail you the valuation but will try and call. Just reply to the e-mail saying you've sold it and they should stop

thanks - is that a trade-in type value or retail that they give you?

Dealers use a CAP system. Quicker and easier to just give your details to someone in a dealership, anybody that won't spare five minutes of their time isn't worth dealing with.

I think it's cash value. Same as we buy any car. I only used it for a rough value, didn't go through with it smile

Ebay completed items for the bike in question, filter the year so you have a year older and a year younger included too.

Completed items is what they sold for, not what they were advertised at; the true value of anything is what it actually sells for.
