Got untill tomorrow morning to decide which one I go for.

I have the choice of:

Metzeller Z8
Avon Storm 2
Dunlop Roadsmarts
Michelin Pilot Road 2
Bridgestone BT-023
Pirelli Angel ST

I've had the PR2s & thought they were excellent so i'm tempted to try something else. Really not keen on Bridgestone in the past, however i'm told the 021 was pulled for being ste & replaced with the 023.

I've seen reviews on them but discounted (didn't bother reading) it due to past dealings with the 021.

Anyone got any experience on the above tyres?

Avon Storm 2 Ultras on mine. I rate them- planted & stable & responsive for my style of riding. Mainly dry use (don't like washing bikes after being in rain) but in the odd shower there was no nervousness or twitching with them.

But then I probably don't ride as fast as you tongue out

BT023's/Angel STs seem to be getting good early reports too.

PR2s every time for me. As a long time Bridgestone fan, I'm glad I switched. Have tried Metzeler/Avon too and I've yet to find something better than the PR2's for my bike and riding.

I tried the O23 and found it slow to turn in at lower speeds, Personally i really like the Angel ST it's been great for me with good wear and fantastic grip in all weathers, I've heard good things about the Z8 though!

I had Angels on my big heavy old ZZR11 and they were brilliant tyres smile

Still have the 7R mate.

What sort of mileage is everyone getting from their prefered choice? Am I right in thinking the Pirelli Angel is not a dual compound?

I loved Avon Storm STs, not nearly as keen on the Ultra 2s. They are due to manage about 9k to the wear markers but I don't like them on cold wet roads at low speed, I think they are a little to hard in an effort to get long life.
I'll either be going back to PR2s or trying Roadsmarts next.

It's dual carcass which works like a dual compound but doesn't square off as much

Struggling?

Maybe there's a better product in that list that i'm not aware of.
If it helps, the 'so' should have been a 'but'.

If you like the PR2s why not stick with them? I've found that Michelins seem to work well for me.

Never mind all that.

Have you binned those cheapy eBay levers and got a decent feel to your brakes yet or are you still thinking about radial this and radial that (tyres - I grant you radials might be best!).

Not yet, I'm waiting for them to turn up- been on an ebay pampering spree. Bought replacement EBC HH pads still looking for a seal kit- I've found a MC refurb kit, but wondering whether to just ditch it for the radial.

I was using BT-021s on the Bandit and thought they were good until I tried the PR2s.

Thinking the same maybe relevent now.

Dealer seems pretty keen on getting me onto the Roadsmarts. Bigger profit margin? hehe
