Aug 20 / 21 Biker Banter's Summer Track Bash at Snetterton!
Discussion
With just over a week to go, I thought I'd start up a separate thread for it rather than trawl through the general trackday one.
Who's going then? I'm currently booked in for both the Sat & Sun but made a concerted attempt to cut the top of my right thumb off yesterday so the only thing certain for me atm is drinking beer (carefully).
Reminder to Fleegle - don't forget to look for those 4XV wheels (and any other R1 spares you trip over) when dragging out ze Ninjas.

I've already lined my excuse if you get past - sore thumb!!
How many 'extra' bodies can your extra buddies provide in addition to you and Simon? We need another 4 names to bump us up to 10 so Tony can lay claim to a garage.

Had a great weekend especially as the weather held off for us
My only complaint is about people thinking they are better than they really are. There was at least a dozen people in the fast group yesterday that were out their depth. For safety's sake this really needs to be addressed before someone gets really hurt due to differences in closing speeds on corners. It may be up to the faster rider to take care when passing, but some of the lines taken yesterday by the inexperienced was asking for trouble. It's maybe time that all UK trackdays are timed by the TDO to ensure people are in the correct group. There's no shame in being in the Novices or the Inters group.....everyone has to start somewhere
Ditto on both points. My only complaint is about people thinking they are better than they really are. There was at least a dozen people in the fast group yesterday that were out their depth. I had more near-misses with other riders in two days there than the last two years doing Euro trackdays.

Seems to be a lot of moaning.
I have an idea, before you lot get on track you should all qualify for position in the 3 groups and then have transponders fitted so you can all be let out in the correct order of fastest first in your groups...
....fk it, have a race start to with maybe a little plastic cup for the first three too.
No moaning from me. At the time I actually enjoyed the near misses, the beer and the curry. It's only the next day when you contemplate the numbers. Not only am I comparing a UK trackday to a European one which is perhaps unfair, it was a UK one on a weekend which I'm assured by UK trackday regulars draws a different crowd again.
Plastic cup you say?? ........ Now there's a thought!

Ohhh, did the other chap stay upright?
The naked bike managed to stay upright and suffered a bent exhaust, the other bike looked like someone had charged at it with a sledgehammer. The rider was okay though.....he took more of a beating on fbBiker's Nemesis said:

What goes on off track stays off record! These sothern TD's sound like fun
Half the attendees were Norverners anyway which is (possibly)why we wandered from pub to pub looking for the 'perfect pint'.
I might have a look on Wileman's website for some shots when I get a mo sometime this weekend.

Nice One Grahame. Get Simon to write his thoughts up then change you name in your quote to LoonR1 so it looks like he's still here.
Graham, if you find you are tripping over Snoon's old R1 and are keeping the Beemer for track stuff then please remember I am on the lookout for a 5VY R1. I was having to try quite hard at one point when something green & chuckling came past before thinking 'I'm not having that!' and extracting one's finger.hebegb said:
