I have a go pro hero 4 and want to connect a mic to it so I can chunter to myself and actually hear it back?
Any recommendations?

Due to the positioning I assume I need a Skelton frame to house the go pro?

You have a few options. The GoPro skeleton frame, works fine but I have filed the slot every so slightly for the micro USB as the mic never seems to be in quite as it should.

Aftermarket CNC machined housings have a much larger slot and some come with a lens cover and you can attach filters to the front. That way you don't risk using the camera without something over the lens. Some come with mounts for accessories.

Or, use the normal full waterproof housing and drill a hole and file to shape. This is the cheapest way but you do lose the waterproofness! But then again you lose that feature with the above.
Cheersfella. All ordered last night
