Hi guys,
I'm taking my CBT tomorrow and the theory test the week after so I would like any advice you may think helpful. Just bought a pair of reasonable summer gloves and a lid as I don't want to be wearing a minging lid someone else has been sweating in over the summer, plus I think it would be better to get used to the lid I'll be using when I eventually pass the test. Any other pointers which may help?

Unfortunately not. I have ridden a mountain bike regularly so I'm familiar with falling off but hopefully I will pick it up fairly quickly. Can't even do wheelys on a mountain bike so I won't do any intentionally yet!! I think the advice about listening to the instructor is good because at least I am starting from scratch and haven't ridden before so I genuinely have no idea and no preconceptions.

Cheers

Err... Green?

What type of bike can I practice on after my CBT and before my test? Am I limited to a 125?

Woo Hoo!!

Passed my CBT. Not too difficult until out on the road. It really hits you how vunerable you are doesn't it. Well scary. Looking forward to doing my direct access now but I have the theory test next Saturday.

sjm,

You're not kidding. I felt safer on my mountain bike at some points. The instructor had to tell me to keep to the centre of the road a couple of times as I'm used to a push bike and keep to the kerb but I can't wait for my lessons on a 500 but that is at the end of the month. I was warned it is addictive and I'm now hooked!

I just had a thought go through my head of what I'll be like on a 500. Does anyone remember the ewok on Return of the Jedi when it got on the speeder bike. I'll be holding onto the handlebars and my body and legs will be flapping in the wind! Watched the superbikes yesterday and have much more respect for them but they have to be completely insane!

Yaaayyy
Passed my Theory test on Saturday with 100%. To be honest I would have been dissapointed if I hadn't. Only took me 15 minutes as well, which included giving them my ID, putting rucksack in locker, taking the practice session, doing the test and then filling out a customer satisfaction survey. They really should meke these a bit of a test. The number of numpties on the road will never decrease unless the driving test is worth something.

Will be having 3 1/2 days lessons and then the test immediately after starting a week on sunday. I'm actually looking forward to it.
