I fink I just been stitched up.

Found the cause of a slow puncture in my 600RR's rear tyre last night. A very fine piece of wire, almost like a paperclip had pierced the carcass between the treads. The tyre has very little wear.

Took it to our local Merityre this morning and he wouldn't even consider repairing it, telling me that it's 'against British standards'. I think he just spun me a line, and just wanted to sell a new tyre.

What's the SP then lads?

Ah, no scratch that - he's absolutely right. I just checked the British Standards, all motobike tyres V rated and above are not eligible for repair. Makes sense really.

Bit of a sting on the old wallet this morning though!

Burn-out's huh. Sounds like a plan to me!

Wasn't too bothered to be honest. The old tyre had squared off badly with being run at low pressures. Going to keep a close eye on this one. Scrubbing it in was a new experience...
