Dont worry Rawwr. I can't imagine that we will be going mad on the first of the season.

My sister is really nervous after a road accident. Dave and I are going to relax to get back in the swing of it after winterising the bikes since October and his brother is sh*tting a brick as he hasn't been on track for 4 years. Greg is just out for a laugh and is building up confidence.

It will be nice to have others to chat to, etc.

I just hope we don't get snow and ice like last year!! The marshalls were driving Land Rovers around the circuit for four hours trying to dry the ice. As you went through Bridge corner, the bike would move around as the water was just re-freezing in the shade!!

Looking forward to it lads, shall we all share a garage? We aim to get there for 7.30 for signing on.

Just got the rear tyre fitted. Dropped my car back home at lunch so I can take the works Transit home, clean up track leathers tomorrow and pack gear, tools, cool bag. Then load bikes. Leave house at 6.00am heading towards Silverstone.

Weather looking dry at the moment.

Managed to get a tripod and camera, which I am mounting to the back of the bike, so if anyone wants to follow me for a bit and get some footage that I can email, feel free. I got a 2gb memory card on 3.2mpixel digi camera so should be good for an hours worth.

See you up there, we will be in the 'Sondex' liveried Transit.

Wow, £69 well spent, talk about value for money. A great start to the day with a sunny morning made sure there was plenty of grip to be had.

Met with Mad Dave and Rawrr and all set up in garage 8C. Great to meet you both, you both looked to be thoroughly enjoying yourselves out there!!

A sausage and egg roll ensured suitable energy levels and then out we went. I can't believe how busy it was!! Loads of Yellow Jackets braving the cold.

All in all a great day even though it clouded over at lunch and the temperature dropped considerably (as the Intermediate Heroes found out!!) I could not believe that after all the warnings, signs and tannoys about warming tyres, the idiots still managed to have someone fall on every single warmup lap!!

Anyway I have attached a few photos:

The Blade felt really good all day long, I struggle to see why the press call planted and forgiving handling boring!! I must admit that on most bends my knee touched down followed quickly by my toe sliders, I don't think that I have got much lean left so I will need to start working on my lines better to go faster.

Also, because I fear highsiding so much, I really don't get on the power early at all. So this could be an area that needs attention to go quicker.

Same here on the 1000, powering out of corners is always a concern! I reckon you need to move you foot into a better position to avoid the toe sliders touching down - I had the same problem.

Tried that and got cramp!!

S2B, get some rearsets which will move your feet higher and further back. Try and get the ball of your foot onto the outside 'ball' on the end of the footpeg when you're cornering. See if this helps?

This is exactly where my foot is placed when I ride and my toes are still touching the deck. That is why I have started to think about getting some rearsets to get my foot higher.

I have removed the 2" hero blobs and the end of the peg is scuffed so basically it doesn't matter where I put my feet, I am going to scrape something.

I just hope I don't run out of tyre!!
