Hi,

Recently had new rear tire fitted and she's wearing in ok most of the way round but getting to them evil edges is proving to be a real pain! I seem to have a lot more fear on the road than on the track, however I want to clarify that I am not killing my bike the way I am riding it.

I have a nice roundabout just near me, that offers 2 long swooping bends to get down on (I see them all the time at it) anyhow I am going round this at about 30Mph in 1st gear at about 9500 revs on my CBR600. Would I be better of trying higher gear lower revs? I understand the 60/40 ratio but I fear that if I drop a gear and drop the revs the bike will just slide out once I get it down (if ever!).

Can you share you wise and wonderfull wisdom on this one?

Does anyone else favour going down one side over the other? My left chicken wing is 5*bigger than right!

It's againt the law? Really, I did not know this. Ho hum, what would they do if they caught you? just a stiff word/warning or worse points!

So what your saying is the bike will hold the edge of the tyre at low 5-6K revs in a higher gear?

Cheers :P

Yea I have been warned of fuel spill's secret hiding places, never did cross my mind though. Unfourtunatly I have little free time in which to goto the track as work just never lets me know when I will be free, and by then everythings booked up! =(

As for getting doen with the knee, it's just a matter or self gain if you will, I want to further my riding abilty and this is my current goal. And it looks fun xD

Sam.

Wheelies, thats far to scarry for me at the moment! Once by accident, was scarry! But thanks for your pointers on cornering (I will keep it safe).

Think I may follow some of the more experienced bikers & see how they tackle the roads. Or simply tell my boss to stick his work load & get down on the track.

Y2, will you be out over the weekend sat/sun, I notice your a hampshire lad to, maybe I could pick your brain for some tips. Go for a spin and show me how it's done, I sometimes head up to portsdown hill to see who over there, but seems everyone else flocks to other places, alton & dorking I believe. :P
