Following on from my post about the HG discount, I remembered a bike shop closer to my home that I bought Accumate accessories from years ago, so I popped in there again this morning. smile

I explained that I am just starting out and would be looking to buy all the kit I need over the coming months, but at the moment I was just after some boots. Reason I decided for this was that my stout walking boots proved unsuitable at my first CBT and I didn't want to use trainers again paperbag

The shop I went to (thanks BykeBitz in Yateley for the great service, especially Gareth for all his help) have a relationship with the riding school I am now booked up with, so I got a 10% discount as a result. Here's my new boots:

I feel like John Wayne when wearing them smilegetmecoat - going to wear them around the house to "break them in" a little.

Thanks guys, have to say that BykeBitz were of great help. It was a "toss up" between the "Vertigo" and the Sidi "Black Rain" boots, but I decided that the Vertigos felt stronger, plus I don't expect to be needing the full on waterproof nature of the Black Rains.

How long did it take to "break them in" Dave?

Cheers!

Thanks Catso - they are certainly comfortable, I guess I just need to get used to having my feet, ankles and shins covered by the boots.

I'm very pleased with them smile

I had some black rains and they weren't full on waterproof. only used them for one summer and sold them on ebay. Bought some altbergs and they are properly waterproof. Have some vertigos too though and they're a great pair of boots.
Thanks Dern, looks like I made the right decision in that respect smile
