..... Did not say much when talking to the guy about options and test ride's etc....

Hoping to take the 1000RR out for a test ride in a few weeks. no rush. looking at using the triple until the winter and then get the march reg 1000RR

Just need to save and decide on a colour? black not for me, Acid green no thank again not me. I'm liking the grey but the BMW racing colours are nice.

So few questions for owners. Insurance?? how much are you paying? i'm paying £203 FC on my 08 plate Speed triple at 33YO

Also I would be going for the TC, ABS etc but what other options are worth looking into???

Also what Alarm is best to have? I have non on my triple as it does not live outside and a very minimal difference with insurance premiums so don't have one. Also a tracker ? worth it?

the biggest step is getting the wife to the dealers as she has no intrest in bikes so I'm taking this as a good sign

Had mine a few weeks now. Insurance is £470 for combined policy on three bikes, one of which is the S1000RR.

Sportpack is pretty much the best option. Not actually heard of one without. Vast majority are being ordered in motorsport colours, as was mine.

I ordered the factory alarm, however its important to know the alarm is stuffed in the only carrying space on the bike, not that you could get more than a packet of condoms in there anyway.

I was finding insurance substantially more expensive without the alarm, so I'm surprised.
not bad a price, The triple has only a very small area to put an alarm and if I had one I will be in the situation as you with the lack of space so i'm not to fuzzed. I#m looking at a Euro trip with a few mates in Sept next year for a week or 2 so looking forward tio the feedback from other 1000RR owners once they get more miles on the bike's

Had my Bimmer for a few months now. Insurance was about 400 quid fully comp. 38 yrs young and zero no claims, so not too bad me thinks. My bike is in the bmw M sport colours and has a quickshifter fitted as a factory option. No traction control, anti wheelie or abs on mine.

I just had an Austin racing exhaust system fitted (clipped together with springs and perfect for the bike) the craftmanship is a work of art on it!

I understand the bike comes with Avons or metzeler racetecs - you definitely want the racetecs out of the two.

Awesome bike and ventura do an excellent luggage rack/system for it as well (thanks rsvgone!!) I have had no problems with mine as of yet. Mine makes an outrageous bang with full throttle gear shifts every click of the selector thanks to the new exhaust.

I'd reommend one, but have a look at all the options? Fireblade? ZX10R? R1? GIXXER1000? loads of excellent bikes at the end of the day. Ooooh - the Aprilia RSV is niiiice as well.........
great info thanks
