Just about every car I have ever loved before the viper has exploded value wise. The Countach I once loved I sold for 45k is now worth well over 200k. My lovely pantera would fetch over 100k now too. My old Cerbera would have climbed in value as well but my beautiful 2001 GTS with its colossal power recently dynoed at 1000 Bhp is way less than I paid for it. Quite astonishing really as a car as rare as a viper would I imagine hold a rarity value at least
Yep, this is exactly my point Not sure what the Answer is Might be up to us to change the market?

I couldn't agree more mi evenly done 12000 miles all
It's life
Coor, that will be rusted up solid then Mind you, Knowing how active the UK Viper owners are I think there will be many more rusted up Vipers It's life
I'm up to 74,000 miles in mine I measure it in Smiles per Gallon LOTS
You could eat your dinner off the underside of my car, it may have high mileage but I guarantee you its better kept than some cars out there
This one,
Those CCW Classic wheels have now been sold.
The car represents the 1997 64 Chamberlain Engineering Chrysler Viper GTS-R: Driven by Jari Nurminen, Hans Hugenholtz, Chris Gleason at Le mans.
The vinyl 3m graphics could be easily removed if its not your cup of tea The car has many mods to the brakes and running gear which are all + points if you actually want to drive the car rather than keeping it in storage. The rear wing is fairly recent and is the prefered Autoform Le-mans wing, (not cheap), Custom exhaust system which could be repacked to allow use of the car on British tracks.
If your a serious buyer you might want to contact charlie

At the time the Gen 1 RT/10 was the Axe Murderer on the block. Not much came close to it in 1992.
Being honest, when you look up close to to them it is a no frills car compared to new cars now, but actually driving one takes you to a whole different level. Simply brilliant fun and Everyone will look at you and smile.
Yes I do believe that is the correct price advertised and if you have the cash I would snap it up and keep it bone stock. In the USA these Gen 1s are now starting to move up in value, and in a couple of years I can see the same thing happening here. The French seem also to love RT/10s and there are many there for sale compared to the GTS coupe.
Head Gaskets are an issue on Gen 1s and will require changing, but apart from that its all pretty good.
17" Tyres are a bit of an issue to get hold of but every now and again the manufactures do make new batches.
I was over in italy recently and there was a 1994 RT/10 for sale there
Me out with my mates in early 2000s We turned a few heads

To be honest Nick, I only watch the Gen 1-II stuff. There was a Blue / White First edition Gen IV listed on the Mecum Auction site that sold but Unless you log onto the Auction site it will not tell you what it sold for.
Try asking on the other site
Knowing that you wish to sell yours, there was a couple of people I was talking to at the Supercars of Essex meets,
You might want to reach out to Ryan and he can add you to his list

I believe this to be Dave Whites old car, what's going on with the stripes? Is that a painted extra white pinstripe either side of the main stripe or a taped on one? I was speaking to the owner at the London Classic Car show. This car was positioned centrally on the roundabout at the entrance to the Silverstone Classic

Oh I love this high milage bks, My car has done 78k and you could eat you dinner off the underside of my car, these so called low milage cars kept in storage (and more importantly, Not looked after) are not worth crap IMO We have seen it time and time again, perished rubber gaiters, rust on the chassis. Leaking gaskets.
Its a car and they are designed and meant to be driven.

How has your Viper performed from a reliability point of view over this distance? Do you have to spend much to keep it running well?4 sets of Spark Plugs.
1 Leaking timing cover gasket.
1 set of new plug leads.
1 Clutch
A few sets of brake pads!
Tyres....yes
1 leaking gearbox rear oil seal
1 broken UJ which damaged a Half Shaft and diff output yoke. Upgraded to unitrax 1000hp shafts
(because 1 UJ broke, I changed out ALL of them)
2 melted fan relays
1 broken window regulator shuttle
1 Battery
1 worn rubber boot on a roll bar drop link.
mods.....lots
of course there are the usual, Oil filters, Oil, Coolant changes
I have never had a valve cover off the engine.
Changing the thermostat was a PIA

General corrosion has been a bit of an issue for me, particularly the cooling system. But that is sorted now. On the plus side rising values will partially off-set the outlay on new parts at some time in the future.
Sadly a lot of this happens from Under use and cars being kept in storage in the wrong conditions.Gassing Station | Vipers | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
