Clay bar is recommended

Halfords sold some under their own brand name about a year or two ago. I bought one but haven't used it yet as I used a Mother's one I'd bought in the US instead because it didn't get contaminated as quickly as I expected.
Its very important to keep the bar well lubricated either with the stuff that comes with the bar or a solution of 1 part car wash to 9 parts water. You end up lubricating your hands too ! Its also important not to use pressure on the bar, just move it across the bodywork.
It doesn't rake long and I was very pleased with the results.
