Castlecombe track day, any interest?
Discussion
Castlecombe, a great track.
Just dipping my toe in the water to find out what interest there is.
There is an open pit lane next month.

Or a cheaper option, but this is semi open pit lane.

I have never done this format so cannot comment on the amount of TrackTime that you can get.
We all know what open pit lane is like and you can go out as often as you like.
I'll go with the flow.................
What do you think?

I'm at combe on the 24th July harrassing porkers if my car survives its first full t/d in 4 yrs then count me in for any.
M.S.E always well run but for some reason are always over priced at combe...I've done few of the other and it works quite well if not too many cars, but you tend to come into pits after a session and tag straight onto the back of the next Que to go out otherwise it's a long wait between sessions

Is what a t/d? If you mean the pork harrassing, then yeah it used to be a Porsche 928 owners club event, but now has a number of interesting regulars non Porsche. I'm looking fforward to giving a particular noble a hard time if I can get the new chassis and suspension dialled in roseytvr said:
I'm up for the 31st if there's a group of us going. Peter, where can I access curborough dates and bookings?
Ian, mail Dan here,sprintandtrackday@hotmail.co.uk
He'll include you on his news letter if you ask.
It has all the times and dates etc.
You'll have to nail it to join Anthony and me, even more so for Ribs time, (lightweight bugger
).
A pair of cans will bring you down unless you have a well messed with system, I will bring a spare set.
As for wet, I did a TD there when it was snowing, one of the best TDs that I have ever done!
Err,...........I used my Skoda VRs with traction and stability and left the tiv in the garage, (the shame).

Righty ho! Thread revival!
After emailing MSE last week I just received this reply:
Hi Peter,
Great to hear from you! No Ed hasn't retired!!!!
It would be great if you could bring some cars to Combe on July. We can't
offer a discount as we are so limited on places but would offer each main
driver a tuition session FOC.
Very much hope to see you there.
Kind regards

Peter you've done loads of track days have you ever had wheel nuts loosen off?
It happens all the time with the Mazda's ?
All the time.It happens all the time with the Mazda's ?
If you torque them correctly then they loosen, probably due to expansion/contraction of the ally wheels.
Let a tyre shop do up the nuts, (probably 200ft lb and you won't have any trouble ).
Look forward to the night before.
Unfortunately my motorhome is 2 berth and although I really like you Alun..........................

There is a trackday at Goodwood on the 9th July hosted by TVR Car Club Hampshire. The cost is £185 inc. VAT and AMRCO insurance. Details on the Chim group on Facebook....

I assume it is not open pit lane but I have always fancied a crack at Goodwood so have booked up. If anyone else wants to join then you need to email Annette on the group.
Already doing 2 TDs in July but will probably visit as its only half an hour from me.https://www.facebook.com/groups/tvrchimaera/603529...

I did Goodwood about nine years ago in a 5.3 XJS.
The word I was thinking of is "wallowy"
