This is an useful link if you know the part number you're trying to replace
www.intermotor.co.uk/prod_cat.asp
ECU Coolant Temperature Sensor
Lucas SNB802 can be replaced by
Intermotor 55128
Facet 73200
Land Rover ETC8496
Lucas 73355A
Lucas 8TT
Lucas SNB802
Webcon WTS163
Jaguar EAC3927 "SENSOR, COOLANT TEMPERATURE, FOR THE FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM. FITS 1980-1992 XJ6 AND 1980-1988 XJS from http://jagbits.com/seriesiiiengine.html"
Apparently there are two Unipart equivalents, the difference is the thread size, if memory serves you want the smaller of the two thread sizes.

More trawling through the PH back catlogue has uncovered these...

Would people like to see an 'Alternative Parts' section on TVR Chimaera Pages?
I can try to put this together over the weekend (hopefully with a clever php/mysql submissions page).
Edited to say that this is in place: TVR Chimaera Alternative Parts list.

Here it is...
BB has put it in a table format here www.thegriffithpages.com/content/view/79/83/ however there are a couple of typos...must, let BB know.
I can send you a Excel sheet of every nut and bolt on the chassis giving thread (mostly 7/16" UNF), length, torque and spanner sizes (although they may vary).
Axe, alternative parts on the Chimaera pages would be useful. the griff pages have got one which I'm sure BB will let you plagiarise in return for a link and information going the other way too.

Ancillary drive belt - serpentine front end with PAS, non-aircon.
Original pt no: ERR 5267
this is a TVR special, but available through specialists, but not through LR or motor factors.
The belt can be specified as:
7PK 1850 (7 rib 1850mm length).
Gates do a 7PK 1855 which i have just fitted which is quite satisfactory (5mm longer) and costs around £10 plus vat and I got from a local factor.

I don't know of any equivalent part number for the swirl pot bung, however there are two options, I believe the thread is 1/2" BSP so any plumbing supplies should be able to sell you a 1/2" BSP plug, or Steve Heath does a nice replacement setup https://delta.securesslhost.net/~shenglt/catalog/p...
Thermostat, I've always used the generic Rover/Landrover thermostat without problems for example those show here http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/rimmer/rover/v8engine/... however some say thee is a particular type you should use, not sure which it is though.
