Yesterday's work.

Plan is to have it on its wheels by the end of today.

After trying a few different front droplinks, with none looking quite right, I've now found these.

A bit short from today's plan.
A few issues with me being thick and putting the hubs on the wrong way at the front but now sorted.

The story so far.

Cheers mate thumbup
Even with all the issues I've had, I'm proud of myself getting this far because I've never done anything like this before.

I get the body back with a fresh paint job tonight. So a few bit to do before I put them back together next week. Bolt it down and then it's off to got a new interior and roof on the 22nd.

I'm really proud of what I've achieved in a small time frame.
I hope these pictures will help and continue to inspire more people to secure the future of there own pride and joys.

Of course you can ask, doesn't mean I'm telling laugh

To be honest, I don't know. I've got a mountain of receipts to file once it's done but until then it is only a guess.

That's pretty much what I've done.
Thinking about it, how much would a new Chimaera be worth ?
My engine has been fully rebuilt so is essentially brand new and zero miles. Full re spray and you can see what I've done with the rest.

All that in mind, I'm sure I'll end up spending more than current market value on it.

Hopefully I've given her at least another 22 years of life.

Once it's all finished I'll need to go shopping for new insurance.
It'll be worth a good bit more than I had originally insured it for.

Not a massive update but something is happening.
New heat shields. Bought the kit from the guy on Pistonheads shop. What I didn't know at the time but do now is that the early and later cars have different shaped firewalls/bulkhead. The kit he sells is for the later chimaera so I had to modify to make it fit.

Also tried some polishing.
Before and after.

Loads more bits to keep me busy.

And finally, everyone please keep your fingers crossed for the dressing of Kate.
All going to plan (and it rarely happens) the body and chassis get back together tomorrow evening.

The body didn't want to fit over the chassis so we had to do an Ed China.

I can't wait to drive her again.
.

A sigh of relief will be had when she's finished. Until then I've still get a mountain to climb getting her ready for interior and roof getting started on Wednesday
