I will be coming in my homebrew 400 turbo (scouted by Derek on FB )
Don't know whether to tent over Friday or come up Saturday morning?
This is turning out to be some meet. Don't know whether to tent over Friday or come up Saturday morning?
A red one too
You've done 13.1, come up really really early Saturday so your tired and off the boil
I can only do the one night and I'm assuming most will stay Saturday
I like Burghley and all the other Tvr events and racing is great but this drag weekend is a bit different, most of us don't race but we'd like too, checking out the changes and mods done on many of the Tvr attending this event ( about 10 of us ) is well worth the visit if I was a Tvr owner wondering what's the best thing to do with your own cars, remember most these cars have been done at home so the knowledge base is practical and factual.
Peters N/a monster is worth it just to see what's possible for us standard type owners as is Derek's ( obviously)
The chat and banter is easy and it's all very relaxed until those final 13 seconds
Great fun
ETA Peters got a new engine build, he might be there more because we like his warm van than because he wants to set even faster times. What a guy

I am quite organized and prepared for a change.
There will be a firepit and BBQ at my van for those who are coming Friday and those camping on Saturday night. I have a van full of tools and a spare pair of drag radials for people to try. I even have a spare driveshaft if anyone is unfortunate enough to snap one. We could fit it in the pits to get you home.
Really looking forward to seeing Neals car in action and hopefully I will get lined up alongside with the nitrous at the ready.
How will it go? Predictions please

Thats very very generous Derek. I am brining my caravan so if anyone needs cooking facilities etc they will be free to use. I will put up the awning too should wr need a bit of rain shelter. There will be a firepit and BBQ at my van for those who are coming Friday and those camping on Saturday night. On the tyres issue - my rears are about 4 mm SO2's are they any good for job ?

Yeah they'll be fine not that I'm competative or anything On the tyres issue - my rears are about 4 mm SO2's are they any good for job ?
The less tread pattern the better in essence but old harder tyre's might not be the best to get you off the line cleanly.
If you do burn outs properly ( which I won't be - new tyre's they should be ok.
Your 60ft times will tell you all you need to know
I'll bring a slab of ale and some bacon and beans,,, can't think I'll need much more than that
SO2's will struggle to break 2.0 seconds to 60 foot IMO. A small burnout will help a little and reducing the pressures in the rears to about 20 psi will give a bigger footprint.
For people with adjustable shockers try setting the fronts to fully soft as this will let the nose rise on launch helping weight transfer to the rear. I also recommend setting the rears to hard so that weight transfer goes to the tyres and not soaked up by the suspension.

Dare I say the weather is looking good especially for Saturday.
I am really looking forward to seeing my racing buddy Andy Fadster in his monster 1923 T Bucket, The car has run in the 7's over 180 mph at the pod and Shakey but that was on 'normal' fuel and only 1500 bhp. This weekend will be the first time the car runs on methanol and a reputed 2500 bhp on tap. Don't miss this in action. I propose we find out when he heads to the track and follow a few cars behind s we can witness as we queue.

7's unreal. That's a very good idea Derek. Alun is going down lol
I stuffed Mac off the line so you've got no chance
EFA
MAC LOVES HIS CAR TO MUCH TO BOTHER RACING THIS FOOL, ( he also had me by 50 yards
My mates got some cheating tyre glue from the states, I was so incensed he was going to use it I left him to slap it on the tyre's alone!
He was slower
But in a straight line
Might work
Your meant to apply it to the inside of the tyre or I'd be using it
I'll bring it for you Pete
It's going to be a right buzz and lots of fun.
