Impromptu meet up/drive out Cotswolds-ish
Discussion
Another very successful little Chimaera meet yesterday.
Really nice to meet you Paul & Gareth and nice to finally see your car Mike which as I said from following at the rear looked lovely.
Paul : Regarding Poole.
They open the Quay for TVR cars only at 6pm and it's all ours till 9pm, what I've done before is after a bit of chatting usually then wonder off to get drinks and some fish &chips. I imagine it's like any other Saturday night except the Quay is full of TVR's till 9pm which is when I head off back home. Not really sure what the more local guys do,but been as we have to move our cars at 9pm I presume most people just head off home and then the Quay becomes a normal Saturday night again.
Looking at the weather at the moment for the Friday it's looking promising but am watching to see if it changes before I make my decision.
Look forward to the next one .

Great to see everyone again on Saturday, initial weather worries proving totally unfounded- I ended up with a red face (literally), bar the faint outline of my sunglasses!
Decent drive too, nothing like seeing a line of 6 other Chimaeras in the rear view mirror down a decent country road in the (rare) English sun! We drew a fair bit of attention making our way through Banbury centre too
A few more pictures- sadly not up to Nick's standard. He actually messaged me yesterday expressing his disappointment at the standard of my photography and assured me he'll be back in charge of that department for the next one...
Next time I'll make sure I have nothing else on that day so I don't have to shoot off early, although I did enjoy a superb drive back down south through the Cotswolds- it was a race to get as close to home as possible before the battery ran out on my phone sat-nav, I got back to a point where I knew the way at 4%... It made me realise I really do need to get the cigarette lighter sorted!

Pics of the day look fine from here Dave... Thanks for posting them.
I think Mike needs to sort out a satnav as well because he left the pub and turned left and about 10-15 mins later he drove past the pub again
Was quite amazed we stayed together in a line considering how many roundabouts we came across.
Mike : I'm 75% going to Poole at the moment but will confirm later
Alun : Sorry you couldn't join us and hope your problems were minor ones which have now been resolved.

Fuel run Jas. 'Sno joke when you're on carbs!
That explains it then Only minutes later of you passing a Green tuscan opposite direction came past and gave us a beep... would of thought you must of passed it.knew nothing about the Brill fest Paul, just looked at the web page. But I've got tickets for Blenheim palace classic on the Monday so doubt very much I'll be going to that especially if I end up going to Poole on Friday. Have a good one if you go.
I missed the Tuscan, must have come from another direction as they do stand out rather I'll text you in the week Jas as mine is in for its MOT so best to see how that goes before making any grand plans
But all going well and if you're going to head down I'll definitely join you from Swindon
As for Brill, it's gone a little quiet.. I'm still holding out hope for being given some real estate to pitch up a tent and get a bit merry

Hi guys.
I forgot to mention, after our first impromtu meet up, and "nice bit of spirited driving on occasions" (tvrjas quote).
My speedo mileometer started to work.
After about 18 months of not working.
Till the next one.
Frank's car when or if it's advertised "one careful owner with low miles" I forgot to mention, after our first impromtu meet up, and "nice bit of spirited driving on occasions" (tvrjas quote).

Just thought I'd let our little group know after talking to you about it that I went ahead with the T350t purchase and not the Jensen.
Still got the Chimaera but I may just come along in this to the next meeting if it's allowed?
Having the glove box fixed as it's warped so they gave me a 3 week delivery time to prep the car. It's probably been the longest 11 days of my life already.
Thanks Alun,
It's got quite a few mods you may approve of,and as you like a few mods he's a little list.
4 ltr Red Rose Powers rebuild upgrade
Sagaris Eprom upgrade
Carbon fibre air box
Quaife 3.73 diff
C/R box
Powers sports exhaust
Still working out what most of it means and what it all does but I've got a feeling it's going to be a little bit lively
(My test drive was very sedate.)
Hope to see you soon and good luck with fixing the clutch.... Thanks for the Fab comment, not heard that word in ages.

So when's the next one fellas? A few of us I'm sure will be seeing each other at the NG open day, any thoughts beyond that?
We had a rather enjoyable 200 mile round-trip down to Goodwood at the weekend that included monsoon-style rain, high winds, long stationary queues of traffic, and navigating a muddy field car park that resembled the Western Front circa 1916- remarkably capable these TVRs!
