Thanks for the heads up but as both my son and i are over 6ft2in i think the angle of sight will be fine as our heads tend to be right up under the roof but a good point

Regarding the mirror fitment i checked again with the original citroen offering versus the vw carrado i am fitting and the vw miror all be it slightly shorter is in fact slightly higher as the mounting is on top of the door as opposed to being inset like the original plus i dont like the idea of the mirror on a plinth to gain better rearward view, the bonnet is not goint to have hinges just four turrets with antiloose pins, i also ordered the tyres yesterday to be fitted to the imola wheels that have been sorted.

well heres todays report got the nearside headlight fitted plus trimmed the surround for the offside one, picked up the wheels and tyres and rebuilt the heater so not to bad,in the pictures you can see the live screen on the laptop with the pertenant information only tickover at that time ,played with the map for some time to get the stepper motor and the fuelling right dosent seem to bad, plus the oil pressure and tacho working, for the eagle eyed out there the lambda is in warm up mode and at that coolant temperature it should be open but i had just stopped the engine lowered the iacv value and restarted so it goes through a lambda warm up for a few seconds first, cant wait to get the wheels on rubber looks really good.

answers to some questions,
firstly the bumper is indeed rubber and i like it black i am not into colour coded bumpers.
secondly the dash is made by me as i do a fair amount of marine work dashboards for boats are an intrinsick part of our business we have done all sorts wood, laminate, leather ,glossy, mat you name it we have made it.
the switches are single pole only and only 40 watt so relays have to be driven by the switch for the side lights and fog lights, headlight and dip beam are already on relays so no problem, i think these ones came from r.s. but i am not sure.

and to todays effort,i have sorted the last of the dash wiring all now works on the new switches and leds very pleased with the result, but the main work has been on the headlight bezels as to get a good looking fit i have reconstructed the area of the bezel that sits on the lamp face,i didnt want any gaps or odd looking returns so i started with a copper tube fashioned to the exact shape and contour of the lens and glassed that to cut away bezel the result looks great and once filled and painted should do the trick,i have posted some more pics of the wiring hope they are what you wanted.

I had the original dash and used that as a template and the heater dials where illuminated but often not working hence the use of led bulbs
