Fitted a superb new Kenwood stereo to the TVR yesterday. Think it's the KIV 700 with the iPod input. Really pleased with it. The only issue is getting the stereo to sit flush and securely in the dash, the cage doesn't seem to fit very well!

Also picked up a Clio 172 Cup as a cheap track/competition car, so been busy changing knackered track rod ends and engine mounts! Crappy French bean can!! Meanwhile, the TVR has been perfect. smile

Just finished a chassis/suspension refresh, here are a few pics. Bit of a shame it all gets hidden!
Replaced wishbones and bushes, new Leven drop links, replaced discs, pads and fitted braided hoses.
Pretty hard work doing this on stands and ramps etc, will have to think really hard about investing in a two post lift
Off to get the geo set up done and hopefully the sun will come out for bit of a blast.
Kev

a very clean tvr . its going to be hard taking that beauty out if the weather looks abit foul frown

I changed the dash from a nasty looking old one to a nice shiny ally one, also fixed the battery box and got the handbrake warning light working again. A good couple of days all in all!

If it rains it pours, well it's raining and my car appears to be pouring fuel out over the exhaust. I can't be bothered to roll about in the wet right now, I'm guessing this isn't anything too out of the ordinary and will just be a fuel pipe seeing as its close to where the pump is? Could see it peeing down over the rear exhaust mount.

Scrap that, it stopped raining so I had to have a look. The last idiot who changed the fuel filter reused a crap jubilee clip and it was so loose I could spin the hose rolleyes

Had a weird discharge thing on the 4.6.

Traced it to a dodgy alternator that was also throwing out nearly 20 Volts yikes

Dropped the box to put in a new spigot bush. It had been soaking in oil for 6 months smile Turd of a job!
While box out I upgraded the starter cable to a much thicker one, good'un.
With box out I changed the rear bush and seal on the box. then fitted the box back in and tried to mount the drive shaft which dont fit. Meaning i have to take it all down and hone the bush 'til it fits! DARN
Got new bolts and nylock nuts to mount driveshaft to diff

Also added some washers in the gearlinkage around the plastic tube on to of gearbox, was big play there.

God I really need to redo the carpets in this car soon

Productive day in the spring sun resulting in charge cooler heat exchanger finally bracketed and mounted. Really has taken far more time than it ever should have due to wanting to use same mounting points as auxiliary light bar (yeah, I know), but pleased with simplicity of final result (ever noticed simple things always seem to take loads of effort to achieve?) Also found a good home for and mounted charge cooler pump - which I managed to hang in exactly the right place to ensure the pump clamp screw was completely obscured and inaccessible; proper TVR stylee! smile

Just got back from much enjoyed reward pint to find alarm going for no reason with sounder clearly dyyyyyiiiiiiiinggggg horribly.... so, one less thing to find a home for in the nose void cool

And today's efforts have resulted in a modified throttle bracket (cage behind plenum), which has had sharp right angle relieved directly above rear of near side rocker cover. With covers reversed, now enough room to slip hand under dump valve to get at oil filler. Also installed probes for charge cooler in and out temperature readings using some nifty self-sealing gland fittings, and made up mini-timer plug for cc pump. Pulled alarm sounderr... Will start a separate thread on that sorry object smile

6 litres of 10w60 fully synth Mobile and a filter today, this cars had more oil changes over the last 12 months that I've given other cars over 5 years hehe

Any handy tips on changing the fuel filter? I spun a 13mm nut around for a couple of minutes then got cramp in my hand, packed up and went in to watch the football. It was almost as annoying as manifold bolts smash

Great progress Gary, pity about the alarm/immobiliser. I certainly know what you mean about seemingly simple things taking an inordinate amount of time.
