mixed day at emerald today, plus just like to say what a great team they are nothings ever to much trouble john spent a considerable part of the day sorting the dash pro with me, but i digress mapping has gone to plan but now the standard 500 griff clutch cant put up with torque we are now approaching 400ftlbs of torque running 9psi cant get any further readings suffice to say that was on load site 13 out of 15 at around 4500rpm so a fair bit to come, will get full power run when new clutch sourced and fitted.

following on from last post i have removed the gearbox and clutch there is actually nothing wrong with the clutch itself no visible wear or other problems just not up to this kind of torque so an ap racing clutch has been ordered will be with me tomorrow, also going to do the gearbox while it is out i have found a builder who will fit the larger gears and bearings into our casing plus the steel bodied pump so should improve its longevity i also finally got the dash2 doing what i want not the easiest thing in the world but fantastic backing from race technology got some pics of the rolling session dash and gearbox removal,i also turned up a little stainless piece to accept the new little rocker box vent.

The gear indicator is worked out with the ratios rpm and some electronicary the engine was only running with it in gear on my building blocks so no load so no boost pressure in the plenum no still on original box and hopefully the little breather will help keep crankcase pressure down.

No daz the shock adjustment is more than adequate for the stiffer springs you should theoretically use less damping with stiffer springs.

Absolutly just adjust damping accordingly

In the end i have just gone through the box again rebuilt the remote mechanisum and replaced it more or less as it was there seems to be no major upgrades for the lt77 it already is the later suffice with the better pump and wider gears etc. so not a lot can be done will have to se how it goes.

No the dash has its own sensor which if you look back in the thread you will see how i got round the fitting of said sensor it also has a gps aerial for lap timing etc. both require wires run from location of aerial/sensor to the dash, and it is now very accurate as it is infinately adjustable insomuch as the number of pulses per mile can be set by increments of one.

sorry for the late report i took the car to emerald and john and i have got what we think is the best map for this particular engine, it is very very smooth loads of low end torque with the boost building smoothly all the way to 10.6 flat-out the graph with two lines is the old graph running the 95mm blower wheel and 240cc injectors at 3.1 bar fuelling the solid line is the new output figures and is just right getting a little bit rich at the top end to keep things under control heat and detonation wise the only alteration i have made is to turn of the 0 fuelling on lift of and added a little fuel above 2500rpm to stop popping and banging other than that all good for an old pre seep 4.0ltr

made and fitted a splitter today its a variation on the gutter theme ,i actually used some 4in drain pipe slightly stiffer i was concerned guttering would deform with the wind pressure the blade is held by a shaped piece of galvanised plate 1,5mm which is in turn held by five 6mm set screws up into rivnuts the blade itself is slotted so should it foul on whatever it can slide from under the plate hopefully causing no body damage,

Well daz thats a mute point but any wind deflecting type devices are normally shaped this way reference a rear wing etc. but frankly i dont think in the splitter instance it makes much difference as it will create a low pressure area behind the splitter whatever and this way round is less likely to create damage should it be caught.

at last got round to fitting the new brakes from hi spec to say i am pleased with the offering would be an understatement they are superbly engineered and every concievable part plus a few extras all arrived well packaged ,as some may remember i had taken a front assembly including the wheel so as to assure that the very best fit could be afforded and i am very happy with the result the six pot front caliper has been very slightly machined to allow the fitment of the 15 imola wheel the clearance is about 2mm and the brackets and bells are all beautifully machined and anodised, new braided hoses came as part of the kit once we got them all fitted just one pass of the vacuum bleeder was sufficient for a rock solid pedal so if it is dry tomorrow i will give it a run to bed the new pads to discs prior to the weekends fun.

The handbrake version rear calipers are now a general offering they use a very cunning linkage to operate two little round pads stricktly only a parking brake but makes it legal and the original handbrake cables fit directly they supply with the calipers numerous links and levers to get the set up just right for each individual car.
